I recently asked related ? but purchased new ?
to get more specific. Pls assess risk: hsv2+ female on valicyc 500 but took a
few days off (3?) then back on for a few days (2?) then missed 1 day but was on
3 consecutive days (to include day of sex act) prior to sex act -genital
rubbing (lubricated less friction) no penetration but RIGHT after felt POSSIBLE
symptom of o/b for > a day near area of genital contact. No lesion
developed. question: 1)does 3 days of meds offer some protection at all? 2)how
much less risk without penetration? 3)in general with o/b is there guarantee of
transmission? 4) I know 2-10 days for symptoms but is there an avg? 5)general
thoughts about risk here?

Three days of medication will most definitely reduce the risk of transmission, yes! Without penetration, the risk is dramatically reduced, yes. No, there is not guarantee of transmission ever - just more likely with an obvious outbreak. The average duration of a recurrent outbreak is about one week.
I think you risk is low. Is it zero? No,but it is low.
