[Question #4337] transfer method- only insertive unprotected sex?

I'm sorry, but after re-reading I just wanted to clarify so I don't have to keep asking the same question!!
a) My questions to Dr. Hook and Dr. Handsfield were related to- if you touch someone's vagina/anal region (with secretions/bacteria/virus) and then touch my own Penis afterwards with that same hand with secretions, or touch my anus when using the bathroom. I wanted to make sure that you couldn't transfer genital warts, genital herpes or other STD's in that way. I think it may have been interpreted that I was only worried if I got it on my hands, but in fact, it's the transfer from my hands to my penis that is the question. So if that's not the way it transfers and that's not possible than a simple zero risk answer confirms it. And, If there is a risk, does the time I had the bacteria/virus on my hands matter to when I touch myself.

b) Just to make sure I understand DR. Handsfield, if there's no unprotected vaginal or anal sex, I can disregard any other method or chance of transmission by other means (woman's genital secretions to my hand-to my own genital, etc...). Unless you are having unprotected insertive sex, no need to concern for herpes, genital warts/hpv or other std's.

You are great doctors, I hope you can appreciate that I'm just trying to straighten out my misunderstandings and the last feed was closed. I'm sure i'm not the only one who would like to know the answers to these questions and I hope it helps someone else as well. Thank you for your time, patience and empathy. Sorry if I'm a little slow on the uptake on this.

This must end.  While we are appreciative of your kind words regarding our efforts to address questions, your series of questions is repetitive and as I read your most recent question I find that I can go back to prior responses on multiple occasions by both Dr. Handsfield and myself in which this precise question has been answered.  Yet you return, again and again, sometimes with questions which differ in minor ways from earlier ones and sometimes with identical questions.  I will provide a single, repetitive answer to your repetitive question.  The thread will then be closed.  If you perceive any part of this answer to be unclear, returning to this forum will not help.  Thus you should either make an in person visit to your own doctor for information or consider that your repetitive questions and failure to be able to process our answers and assurances may represent a mental health issue (perhaps OCD) which does not need new answers but instead a mechanism for dealing with your continued anxiety.  You should not return to this site!

In answer to your first question, once again, - ZERO RISK Neither direct nor indirect transfer if genital secretions or STI pathogens on a persons hand (i.e. touching your own ano-genital region [or any other part of your body] after either touching another person or something that had been contaminated by other person will not lead to STI transmission - all STIs.  The time interval between contact/transfer makes no difference.

2.  The statement "Unless you are having unprotected insertive sex, no need to concern for herpes, genital warts/hpv or other std's." is almost correct.  Occasionally sex toys used in penetrative activities between persons immediately have been described to transfer STIs from person to person on VERY rare occasions.  This is entirely different from the scenarios you describe in this or other questions

End of response.  End of thread.  EWH
