Further Clarification (narrow the question down to specific):
45 Male
May 23 - Unprotected sex 2 min or less with CSW from Indonesia - before condom applied. Receptive and given Oral
July 10 – Pimple appear on tip of penis
July 31 – two more pimples appear – believe all 3 pimples were MC – later diagnosed September as MC appeared in pubic area.
August 1st – STD Tests all negative as well as HIV
Have taken Doxy on and off for months for unrelated issue – dermatitis.
August 15th – give or take – I have sensation after ejaculation – discomfort – like I am not done. Could be described as pain?
August 18th – notice a slight rash developing on buttock.
August 19th – during this week – having just returned from Asia – I have chills, raised temperature, runny nose, hoarse throat, unilateral conjunctivitis. Major outbreak / rash on buttock. I am not sure if inflammation on penis tip –
August 23rd – visit GP – does not see anything alarming.
Urine Test – shows trace amounts of Leuk and Ketones.
September 26th – urine sample taken – trace amounts of Leuk and Nitrates.
Oct 25th Urine culture – results normal.
Over the last while I have perineum pain, aching tip of penis. I cannot seem to shake the symptoms of something off. I will admit to is a crazy amount of anxiety and guilt after noticing bumps on head of penis and not knowing what from – possible STD with negative tests
My questions are:
1/ Could the outbreak during the week of August 19th have been acute prostatitis? Having tested negative for all of the big STD’s could this be brought on by anxiety, or possibly M Genitalium? I have sent urine away to be tested for MG.
I still have ongoing ache’s in perineum and tip of penis. Comes and goes. Immediately after waking up there is no pain…but can increase during the day.
2/ It has been 23 weeks post exposure – is there anything else that could be causing these symptoms?
3/ In the chance that I do have or have had MG - I notice some posts where you say it clears on its own in most cases? Am I correct in that understanding?
It should be noted that I have not noticed any discharge ever (save for one time – but cannot say with certainty) and have never had what I would call PAINFUL urination – maybe a slight burn but not debilitating. Only real discomfort was ejaculation 12 weeks after exposure.
Thank you.

Welcome back to our Forum. I happened to be on the site when your question arrived so you are getting my response a bit more quickly than is typical. Further, I must say, I am sorry that you continue to worry about this exposure. I think you may be overthinking things. I'll go straight to your questions:
1. None of the symptoms that you describe for your August 19 episode even remotely suggest prostatitis in which the specific symptoms are typically genitourinary in nature. It really does sound like a community acquired viral respiratory tract infection (conjunctivitis is part of such illnesses). Similarly, it really does not suggest Mg. While I'll be interested in your Mg results, nothing you are describing suggests Mg either.
Regarding the symptoms that come and go, this is just not typical of ongoing STIs. That the symptoms come and go suggests either normal variation or a healing process.
2. Not that I'm aware of. I continue to wonder if you have heightened sensitivity to symptoms which may represent otherwise normal findings.
3. Yes, you are correct. Most available data do suggest that much of Mg infections do clear by themselves.
I hope this is helpful. I would also suggest holding further conversation until you get your Mg results- they should be available within a few days of being received at the lab. EWH

I will let you know of my results once I receive.
How long does the MG NAA test take to process - can they do immediately upon receipt or does it require additional time. Just wondering when I should reach back out to the doctor?
What kind of time frame do MG Infections generally clear themselves.
Again, thank you and I will let you know of my results.

The Mg NAATs take just a few hours in the lab but are often not done every day. Results should absolutely be available in a week or less. The clearance of Mg, when it occurs, takes a few weeks, EWH---

I have received the results for MG - it was negative. Couple of things I would like to get your professional opinion on:
1/ I have seen where you reference genital anxiety...is it possible to create so much stress and anxiety that one could create pain in the pelvic area, penis tip, perineum, testicles etc - do the point where ejaculation has some discomfort?
2/ The only potential infection I could have had before my first testing at the end of July would have been chlamydia. As I am not sure how long I had started doxy before that test. Albeit I had no discharge and pain - only after MC showing did I get anxious. I guess my question is does chlamydia on its own if one does not apply treatment?
I am of the belief that after the MC diagnosis I began to let my mind wander into every possible issue known! To the point that I even believed what may have been a virus acquired in August was compounded by my anxiety.
After replaying the incidence in my mind I am convinced the unprotected sex was probably more like 10-15 seconds not 2 minutes. The very fact that it happened made me stressed.
Symptoms have been diminished to the point of no discomfort and pain since getting myself to think logically and focus on the testing results as opposed to what I believed to be symptoms.
Again, thank you for your insight.

Glad to hear of your test result. I would help that this will allow you to move forward and put your concerns behind you. In answer to your final questions (this is my 3rd reply. Forum guidelines require us to now close this thread after three replies):
1: Yes. Tension and heightened awareness can do all of these things. The combination of problems you report to not hand together as being typical of any STI. I urge you to believe your test results and move forward.
2. This is a "what if" question. There is no evidence and no reason to even think that you had chlamydia. But, the answer is yes, even without treatment chlamydial infections can resolve without antibiotic therapy.
It is time for you to accept that you did not acquire an STI from the encounter you have described. You need to accept that and move on. I hope my answers and your test results will allow you to do this. As mentioned above, this thread will be closed in an hour or so without further replies. EWH
