[Question #4512] Chances of HSV-2 Transmission?

My question is fairly simple. I had brief protected
intercourse with a woman who is confirmed HSV-2 positive. A condom was used, I briefly
penetrated her for less than a minute before deciding I didn’t want to take any
more risks. Should there be any concern I contracted HSV-2 from this encounter?

No, I don't believe that this situation presents any real risk of you acquiring herpes. The time was so short, it was a single encounter, I just don't feel that this should be a worry for you at all. I am assuming that you already know that you are uninfected.

Most recent test for HSV-2 was negative. I’m pretty sure during this encounter I was mindful of not letting an uncovered portion of my penis come into contact with her vagina. Even if it did it would take more sufficient contact to contract correct?

Yes, herpes isn't as easy to transmit as some might imagine. I believe it would take more contact and exposure and longer contact to have a realistic change of being infected.

Would you recommend I be tested from this encounter?

No, I don't recommend that you get tested due to this encounter. From your description, it was very brief as well as protected. But if you can't relax about this, you could.
