[Question #4628] Desperate. HPV and Urethritis

Long story and losing myself. Please help me.
Having occasional shooting tip of penis pain. I've tested negative multiple times for all STI's negative urine test and urine culture. Found WBC under microscope. Urologist did Cytoscopy and said everything looks perfect.
1) If its actual Urethritis wouldn't something be visible for a Urologist to see?

2) How does HPV cause Urethritis without a lesion or something being present?

3) I really need advice as I'm worried something is being missed. Urologist said nothing Urologically is wrong that he believes my diet is responsible. Make sense?

4) thanks in advance. I'm running out of money and options. Scared this could turn into cancer?

this is your 3rd response expressing your fears about HPV. They are misplaced.  You need to stop being so concerned about the possibility of having warts or, for any infections that you may have that they are causing symptoms.

To briefly address your questions:
1.  Shooting penile pains are not suggestive of urethritis.  I would urge you to believe your Urologist and your test results.
2.  HPV typically does not cause urethritis.  FYI, urethritis is a non-specific term which refers to inflammation of the urethra.
3.  I would be surprised if your diet was causing your symptoms.  it is far more likely that you anxiety is causing you to focus on your genitals in such a way that you are detecting in a heightened manner.
4.  Nothing you have said in this or other posts suggests cancer.

Thanks doctor. Would Urethritis be visible upon cytoscopy or could the inflammation be silent?
1) are you basically saying hpv isn't the cause of this?
2) Does this sound like Urethritis at all? I have no discharge, blood, or dysuria.
3) noone seems to be able to tell me what is going on. If HPV were doing this what would I or my urologist look for?
I'm just a nervous wreck and thanks for helping me

1.  As I said above. Urethritis means inflammation.  It might not be apparent on cystoscopy.
2.  Repetitive.  This does not sound like urethritis
3.  You need to give up on the idea that his is HPV.  Your symptoms do not suggest HPV at all.,  HPV infections are typically asymptomatic.

When you have been evaluated by as many health care providers as you have with negative results, further examination at this time is likely to be a waste of time and money.  If something bad were there and detectable it would have likely been detected.    Einstein said that one definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over again and to expect different result.  I would simply try not to worry and see what happens over the next month or two.  I suspect your symptoms will resolve.  EWH

Thank you sir. Everyone I've spoken to keeps telling me the same thing it isn't HPV.
1) Urologist said if this were HPV a wart would be there is that true?
2) This doesn't sound like Urethritis at all?
3? Promise I'm not making it up I'm just worried with a family. Could I say 100% this isn't HPV? Just worried that it is causing silent inflammation.

Dr. Hook thank you btw. Just want to be reassured. Do I'm not in any danger. Thought urethritis woukd cause visible inflammation it's why I fear HPV is doing this
