[Question #4633] Again. HPV induced Urethritis

I need further clarity. Random stinking pain in tip of penis. Heightened sensitivity as well. No discharge, blood, or dysuria. Have seen a urologist. Cytoscopy found so abnormalities, growths, or inflammation. Urine test was negative. Urine culture did reveal WBC. Urologist stated nothing Urologically is wrong with me or causing this. He thinks my urine is responsible.
1) Would a urine test or urinalysis reveal abnormal cells if indeed they were there?
2) Eveyone says it isn't HPV. I'm confused as to if HPV could be doing this because cellular changes have taken place. Is this possible pain from that?
3) The inflammation part is confusing. Would HPV cause Urethritis without a lesion being apparent? Basically just HPV existing cause this pain without Warts.
4) You say no way its HPV and Dr. H and Hook have said the same thing. What leads you to believe it's not possibly the cause given every other STI has been ruled out?
5) Where do I go from here? I'm running out of options. I don't want to miss this and have it leas to Cancer. Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance

Your questions are somewhat repetitive. I understand that you are frustrated and am sorry that your symptoms have persisted but repeating questions is not going to change the replies that you are getting from me, Dr. Handsfield or urologist, all of whom are apparently in agreement. The symptoms you have repeatedly described are not symptoms suggestive of EITHER HPV or urethritis
1) Would a urine test or urinalysis reveal abnormal cells if indeed they were there?
I am not sure what is meant by this question. A urinalysis is a general screening test for the urinary tract. It can provide evidence of problems in the kidneys, the bladder or the urethra. urine can be tested as well for a variety of things including bacteria, viruses and cellular abnormalities.
2) Eveyone says it isn't HPV. I'm confused as to if HPV could be doing this because cellular changes have taken place. Is this possible pain from that?
Repetitive. Same answer as before. Your symptoms are not suggestive of HPV.
3) The inflammation part is confusing. Would HPV cause Urethritis without a lesion being apparent? Basically just HPV existing cause this pain without Warts.
Again, repetitive. As I told you, urethritis is a general term for inflammation of the urethra. While a few WBCs are normally present in urine, increased numbers of WBCs present in urine suggest inflammation but do not tell you what is causing the inflammation. HPV does not typically cause inflammation.
4) You say no way its HPV and Dr. H and Hook have said the same thing. What leads you to believe it's not possibly the cause given every other STI has been ruled out?
Our answers are based on years of study and research as well as from information we have gained by attending scientific meetings and reading scientific papers.
5) Where do I go from here? I'm running out of options. I don't want to miss this and have it leas to Cancer. Am I missing something?
You are not missing anything. As I suggested yesterday, I suggest you continue to follow over time with your urologist. EWH

1) Ok so HPV doesn't cause inflammation I understand. What confuses me is that my Utologist said if I had inflammation or if HPV were causing this kind of inflammation he would've seen something. Does that make any sense?
2) Basicallt just looking for some help as money is running out. I fear we're missing this as being HPV and it leading to Cancer and not discovering it until it's to late. I have terrible anxiety. In your honest and expert opinion which I trust what is the chance this could turn out to be 2hat I fear?
3) The cellular changes as far as causing dsyplacia confuse me. Basically what I'm wandering is that if HPV has or is making the current changes would Urethritis result as a side affect?
4) My Urologist advised me there is nothing left he can do that in fact there is nothing urologically qrong which I don't understand. Does this make any sense to you sir?

I really do not know if you have HPV or not. In fact, most sexually active adults do have the infection. What I am confident of however is that HPV is not causing your symptoms (i.e. this could be true-true but unrelated) and that if you did have an HPV-related malignancy, your urologist would have discovered it.
To reiterate my advice, be confident that your symptoms are NOT due to HPV and at this time, I would suggest, you give things some time and see what happens in terms of your symptoms. They will likely go away. If they do not, I suspect their cause will become mre apparent as things evolve. EWH

Thank you for your help and advice. So to wrap this up HPV is 100% not causing this in your expert opinion?
