Hello, how likely is it to get hsv2 on the mouth after performing oral sex several times to a female infected with hsv2 who has rarely symptoms and is taking vacuclovir as a suppressive medication? Thank you for your answer

I think it is unlikely for several reasons. First, HSV 2 does not like the mouth (we don't know why not) so it rarely infects that area and if it does infect there, it rarely recurs or shed from there. Second, the valacyclovir is going to go a long ways to reducing viral shedding and thus infection. I'm sorry that we do not have any specific research on this question of genital to mouth infection with HSV 2 but given what we do know from other studies, it is quite unlikely. Impossible? No. Unlikely? Yes

Thank you for your answer.
Can transmission happen from genital skin contact (beyond area covered with condom) and menstrual blood? To make the question simple: can menatrual blood be infected with hsv2 and contaminate the skin (ex: of men’s genital)
Thank you in advance for your reply

Yes, it is possible that any fluid coming out of the vagina could have picked up virus from tissue that has been shedding virus.

Thank you for your answer. So it means that if any fluid coming from vagina touched the virus can infect parts of the penis (the ones not covered by condom). But does valacyclovir reduce this probability if it was taken by the person infected?
