[Question #4674] HIV Risk?

I was with an escort and she rolled the condom down on my penis with her mouth.  She also put some oil or lube on her vagina and then I fingered her or felt her vagina (can't remember) and it was slipper , I think with one or 2 fingers.  I had some skin missing/cracks on skin   on two fingers that I used on her. There was some redness but no blood (none I saw) and there could have been some pain on the fingers but I don't remember.  Any risk?

Thanks for your question. It is similar to many other questions we have received over the years; I mention this because after reading my reply I would suggest that you look at other replies by Dr. Handsfield and I on the Forum to see that your concerns are not unique and that the reply I have given has been given by each of us many times before.

There is no risk for HIV from the event you describe.  Fist it is highly unlikely that your escort partner had HIV or any STI- most do not.  In addition, I can assure you that no one has ever gotten HIV from receipt of unprotected oral sex and the fact that your partner had the condom in her mouth before it was applied does not change this assessment.  No risk.  Similarly, masturbation is safe sex and the fact that you had cracks and abrasions on your fingers does not change this- still no risk whatsoever.  This is born out by the literally millions of times that person with HIV have been masturbated by sexual partners and not become infected despite the presence of cuts, scrapes and cracks on their hands and fingers.

I hope this reply is helpful. There is no reason for concern and no medical reason for testing of any sort related to the activities you describe.   EWH

Would your answer change if there was blood  on the cracks/abrasions?

I presume this is a "what if" question of the sort that really are not useful directions to go in.  That said, my response would not change if their was blood on the abrasions (or if she were menstruating).  EWH---
