[Question #4724] STD Timing

It's been 15 days since I had a possible exposure. A random woman and I touched our privates to each other for under 30 seconds. I didnt think much of it until I started to research the risks. Its low but a risk from what I read. Risk is possible for herpes which is what I'm concerned about.
1 What are the chance I got herpes from this?
2 Without seeing herpes at 15 days and I've been looking what are the percentages that they can develop now?
2A what are the chances of developing herpes passed 10 days?
3 A STD hotline said it could take up to 28 days to develop herpes and on here 2-10 days. I didnt seen anything between 2 and 10 days is 2-10 days more accurate or do I need to be on high alert for 28 days?

1.  I would say the chances of you getting herpes is far less than getting struck by lightening - incredibly low!
2.  Again, extremely low
3.  same as answer #2, extremely low
4.  The timing of 2-10 days is the most accurate number.   you do not need to be on alert for 28 days, honestly not necessary, from what you have described here as a very low risk encounter.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I'm nervous about herpes and am notice stuff cause i am looking so much. How many questions do i get to ask? What happens if i have more ?'s.
1- I have burning red skin that looks slightly cut and does have some red blotches between my thigh and where my testicles, looks mostly like jock itch
2 - Where would herpes show up? The place where we touched if i did catch it?
3 - I've seen dr HHH say that less than 1%  of people develop symptoms after day 10, do you agree?
4 - I say it was 30 seconds more like 5 Segundos, we didnt grind more so just light touching
5 - At 6 weeks or 8 weeks how does test work? IGG

You get three posts (and you can include multiple questions in each post)
1.  Red burning skin in the area you describe sounds completely like a fungal infection (jock itch)
2.  IF you acquired herpes, which I don't believe that you did, it would show up in the area where you touched skin with the other person
3.  I totally agree that it would be extremely unusual for something to show up after 10 days
4.  So again, this is just not a realistic risk at all for acquiring herpes
5.  How does it work?  it looks for antibody to the herpes virus that a person who is infected with herpes would make.  I do not recommend testing based on your situation.

I am FREAKING OUT. I'm so scared I dont want to lose wife.
This morning I woke up with the chills,  body aches and an upset belly, felt a bit queasy and lower back pain and fever of 100.1.
From research I did when people have first herpes outbreak they get flu like symptoms. I had diarrhea last night for a few minutes and my son has a stomach virus. I haven't had diarrhea or vomiting since last night. It's been 17 days since we touched.
Does it sound like herpes symptoms
Is 17 days too long for first time breakout
Does it sound like stomach virus
Could the burning skin I've had be a sign of an upcoming outbreak?
IGM?
What do I do?!?!?!?!?!
I'm sorry I'm just scared.

What are some of the physical symptom of herpes that I would feel i.e. burning tingling etc?
Would it be possible to have the aches and fever associated with herpes for a short amount of time?
So you're saying it would only show up on my penis since that's that came in contact with her vagina?

The thing is that you don't have genital sores.  These body symptoms that you are describing without genital sores mean nothing.  In addition, people with new herpes don't get stomach upset or diarrhea.  I think you are worrying way too much about this.  And in addition your initial risk, as I have said before, present no real risk for acquiring herpes.

This is the end of your posts on this forum
