[Question #4832] Scientific question

Dear doctor,

Regarding the hiv 1 and hiv2. Are they both conclusive with the hiv combo + p24 antigen “eclia method” at 45 days? (Ps done at 3 labs Whos are CAP college of American pathologists accredited)
I am just wondering if the hiv 2 would be delayed. Or will it be detected with hiv 1.
Thanks,

No, having either HIV1 or HIV2 does not delay test result positivity for the other virus. Not sure why that would even enter your mind....

Your use of the forum is becoming excessive. Please note the forum does not permit repeated questions on the same topic or exposure. This will have to be your last one; future new questions about this exposure, testing, and your fears about HIV may receive no reply and the posting fee will not be refunded. This policy is based on compassion, not criticism, and is intended to reduce temptations to keep paying for questions with obvious answers. In addition, experience shows that continued answers tend to prolong users' anxieties rather than reducing them. Finally, such questions have little educational value for other users, one of the forum's main purposes. Thanks for your understanding.
