Hello doctor,

About three months ago i visited a night club with my friends . I did not take any lap dance or anything

BUT one of the dancer was fully nude was walked towards to me and sat on my leg for 30 seconds or so and asked me if i need a lap dance.

I said no, so she moved  onto the next person who was sitting near me.

Is it possible to get HIV from this incident even though i am fully clothed?

I have huge fear of HIV and  last week i ended up reading in online about HIV symptoms and start connecting everything.

after two months of that incident i had some pimple near bottom of the lips not sure if that is anything related to HIV.

Also i have some pain in my Left hand for last one month and my doctor asked me go to for physical therapy.

Do i have to get tested for this ? I am freaking out that i might have given the disease to my wife.

I thought with clothes it cant pass though , please help me .

Thanks

Welcome to our Forum and thanks for your confidence in our advice.  I hope my comments will help to relive your concerns.  The event you describe was absolutely no risk with no reason for concern and reason for testing.  This sort of contact has never been associated with risk for HIV.  HIV is not transmitted by touching and is not ever transmitted through clothing.

The pain in your hand is not associated with HIV.  Please don't worry.  I hope this comment is helpful to you.  EWH

Thank you doctor. However, my anxiety got me and ended up going for the 4th generation hiv test yesterday.

The results came back Non Reactive  . Here is the content of the report.

Test Name                                                            Result                           Flag                        Reference         Range Lab

HIV Screen 4th Generation wRfx          Non Reactive         NORMAL             Non Reactive  01

As usual trying to search the web and compare the sample reports and got my next anxiety ,  My question is on the flag.

What is flag normal means , I thought flag means something bad.

Can you please comment on the flag column so that i can go to sleep peacefully.

Sorry to bother you and thanks for all your help on this.

I am not sure what the "Flag" column on this result report means.  It may refer to the testing circumstance or specimen- irrespective your result is "Normal".  Take your test results as further PROOF that you were not infected by the events that took place three months.  You really need to put this behind you and stop worrying.  EWH---
