Hi I had a previousquestion about possible sti .
If I was taking kefkex at the time of a test for syphillus ,gonorrhea or chlymydia would that cause test show false negative.
If yes how long should I wait from my last dose to retest.
I still have on n off left testicle pain.
Eyes continue be blood shot e en with eye drops nose bleed after sneezing.
Looked like spot in underware x2 over last 10 days but could have been caused my semi arrousal.
Trying hard to put Oct.6th encounter behind me but things keep coming up to place seeds of doubt.
Thank you

Welcome back, but sorry you found it necessary after the reassuring replies you had from Dr. Hook in your previous thread.
Cephalexin (Keflex) could make some tests negative, because it would cure most cases of early gonorrhea or syphilis. It is not possible to know whether you never had gonorrhea or syphilis or were infected but cured before the tests were done, but for sure you did not have them at the time the tests were done. But since oral sex is such low risk, almost certainly you were never infected with either of these STDs.
Cephalexin has no effect on chlamydia or any other STD, or on the tests for them. Those test results are accurate. You do not need any retesting for any STD. Don't waste your money!
There are no STDs that cause bloodshot eyes or mild testicular pain. Almost certainly you are experiencing normal body sensations or trivial symptoms that you would ignore or not even notice, except that you remain anxious about a sexual decision you regret. Do your best to accept the reasoned, science based reassurance you have had. Truly, you need not be at all worried. You have no STD from the exposure you are concerned about.
I hope these comments are helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Thanks Dr.Hook. Is syphillus like Hsv1 and 2 where the virius once you have will always show up on test .I know there lot of miss leading / wrong information out there.I know its low risk for oral.
Any advise to help ease genital focused anxiety.

Once a syphilis blood test is positive, it will always show up on future testing, although sometimes only on special confirmatory tests. But the kind of test you had, done when it was done, was 100% proof you did not have syphilis at the time of testing and do not have it now. No syohilis test will ever be positive unless and until you have a new exposure and become infected. Don't worry about it!
We are STD experts, not psychologists. We can provide factual information and our professional judgment about STDs. It's up to you to use our information and professional advice to get past your anxieties. If you are unable to stop obsessing and worrying about all this, my only additional advice is that you consider professional counseling.

I believe what you doctors say but just a little confused. This will be my last question.
In your responce you said Cephalexin (Keflex) could make some tests negative, because it would cure most cases of early gonorrhea or syphilis but then later you wrote Cephalexin has no effect on chlamydia or any STD.
Sorry if I am being obtuse.
Did you mean STD/STI like trich or NGU.
Thanks to both if you agsin.
I am feeling better after reading both of your post.
Thanks again.

I said cephalexin has no effect on any other STD, aside from gonorrhea and syphilis. No effect on trichomonas, NGU, chlamydia, or any other STD you can think of.
Don't overthink it. This is a simple issue. There is no chance you have any STD. Believe it and move on!
That completes two follow-up comments and replies and so concludes this thread. I hope the discussion has been helpful. Thanks for the thanks....
