[Question #4987] Came back for Discussion

Hi Doctors, sorry I found it necessary to come back here.

I still have few discussions and questions that stuck in my head, Thanks so much for your Understanding.

Doctors, on my first interaction with Dr. Handsfield, we have talked about my ex-partner HIV results.
I used to think that her results may be unreliable because of erroneous of the testing or something like that and I thought that I must go for my self to test, but now I think if her tests were unreliable, then mine will be unreliable too, so I commit to believe her three negative results (1 ,3, 8 months since our unprotected vaginal sex with her)
despite there is still so little anxiety left in my head, but I would really like to know, if you were in my situation, will you move on confidently and keep your romantic life with your wife without worry?
Because I want to marry in a year or next year and don't want to put my future wife at risk.

And Doctors, I have mentioned on previous thread that I got red dot/red point on the tip of my urethra, and two redness on my penis gland, and it feels nothing, unless I touch them then it felt hurt a bit like irritation and they gone in 3-5 days.
Do you think it sounds like balanitis/yeast? Is yeast sexually transmitted? Because I never experience it before, it was for the first. Now I am fine, but I am the person who stay latenight and sometimes get lack of sleep. And I just notice that I got folliculitis on my head but not severe, I don't feel anything.

Also I got 1 like BOIL or Pimple on my back, I don't know which one, it had not head, just like boil inside of skin, located exactly on my back bone or near it.I suspect that when I lost taking bath for 1-2 days (because of holiday, lazy), or intermittent, I got this. But it gone for 2 days, surprisingly. And also I feel not really good when I stay latenight although I sleep for 7-8 hours.
But I feel better everytime I sleep at night and enough sleep. And I think I get Steph Aureus because of the BOIL like pimple, I am not sure which one, because it has no head, just a small (less than 1 CM of diameter) under the skin, and hurt little bit if I touch it and maybe it links to folliculitis and my coughing, don't know.
I know that before this encounter, I got quite bad coughing with sputum in 2016 through kissing with my present partner because of her pneumonia, fortunately I got nothing from it but it took me 2-3 months for the coughing gone completely.
Few weeks ago, I got coughing again with clear/sometimes yellow sputum, and in a week it gone gradually with yellow to clear sputum and now no more sputum except rare coughing, every hour or few hours for 1-2 coughing, and now coughing still there for a week.
Is it has something to do with HIV?

And about 7-8 months after encounter, I got few groups (3-4 pimple) of skin pimple/like-rash on my left shoulder, it looks like blister but it broken, not like herpes (I am sure), but looks like syphilis.
And I asked a dermatologist and he said it was not syphilis, but it was Contact Dermatitis. He said that if it was syphilis, it must be started from penis because I had vaginal encounter, and my penis only got yeast-like experience, no sores, no blisters, no warts until.

And also my ex partner has chronic swollen tonsils, her both tonsils swollen for few months (she not sure), and after taking antibiotics for her Rheumatoid Arthritis, it only improves slightly by deflated little bit.
By thinking those factors, my anxiety is showing up slightly. Do you think chronic swollen tonsils are proof of HIV?

Thank You Doctors, and Thank You for your calming words on previous thread !

Sorry Doctors, about the Contact Dermatitis, I am not sure that it was syphilis, but what do you think?

I too am sorry you found it necessary to return.

You are over-thinking all this. Your and your partner's test results are 100% reliable. At all labs worldwide, HIV testing is highly automated and not subject to misinterpreation, mistakes in test performance, etc. And HIV blood tests overrule any and all symptoms and exposure history. Even if you had been at high risk (you were not) or if you had symptoms that suggest HIV (you do not), the test results prove you do not have HIV and that something else is causing these symptoms or any others you have now or may develop in the future (assuming you do not have a new high risk exposure).  If your symptoms continue or you remain concerned, see a doctor about them. You can be sure HIV is not the cause, and no other STDs cause these symptoms either (including syphilis). And of course chronically enlarged tonsils are not "proof of HIV".

It seems you are continuing to overreact emotionally to a sexual decision you regret. Deal with that as you need to, perhaps with professional counseling. But don't confuse that emotional reaction with HIV/STD risk. They are not the same.

Thank You so much Dr. Handsfield, did not expect SO FAST response like this.
Apology if you mad, Doctor..but really, Thank You for the confidence reassurence.

So I can rely on ex partner negative result (because I never get tested for The Only One encounter in my life) and can confidently marry my Fiance without worry of putting her at risk of HIV, am I correct Doctor?
If so, then I will put this case behind me in regard to HIV and move forward, but please correct me if I am wrong.

Below my follow up just for my education only in sexuality, not anxiety driven.

About the syphilis, do you agree with the dermatologist that syphilis typically starts at the first infected location, i.e penis and not show up randomly somewhere around body like shoulder I described?

Do barber shop, facial/acne treament/tattoing proven to be a risk of HIV?

I read that HIV Transmission from penis to mouth have proven, but mouth to penis have never been yet proven, is it true Doctor?

I feel much better now, but please don't be mad, just need a little more education from you, Thanks Doc!

"So I can rely on ex partner negative result (because I never get tested for The Only One encounter in my life) and can confidently marry my Fiance without worry of putting her at risk of HIV, am I correct Doctor?" CORRECT

Your dermatologist is correct.

Nobody in the world has ever caught HIV in a barbershop and probably not a tattoo parlor, unless they had sex or shared drug injection equipment while there.

Correct about no reported, proved cases of HIV transmission mouth to penis.

It's good to be informed about HIV, and you are wise to educate yourself. But beyond brief replies like this, you should pursue this by online searching, not be asking more quesitons on this or other similar forums. And start with the perspective and understanding that without unprotected sex (penis in vagina or rectum), or shared drug needles, you will never be at risk for HIV. Don't worry about any other kinds of exposure.

Thank You Doc for confirmed my dermatologist statement, I am glad..
For last follow up or this thread,

1. Can I confident that I did not get syphilis from the encounter because of no symptoms until now (11 month) except the one on my shoulder I described above?

2. Do you think the redness/red point on my penis I described, sounds like yeast? Is yeast sexually transmitted?

3. You said Tatto Parlor do not give HIV infection unless they have vaginal/anal sexual activities, so I assume that contaminated needle with blood while using for tattoing is not a risk fot HIV?

4. No cases ever been proven to transmit HIV for mouth to penis activity. The word proven here means a study that proof no transmission occur biologically or by interview from patient to patient?

5. You said that 6-week window period is conclusive for Duo Test. Can this be applied in Indonesia? Or we should use 8-week for 3 or 4 generation test because HIV 2 in Indonesia not really rare, considering that duo test only detects p24 HIV 1, not HIV 2 antigen? Just to be a little bit careful of HIV 2..

6. I've read your answer on HealthTap that saying HIV 2 is not Lentivirus, but I found on internet where it mentions HIV is A lentivirus, Family of Retrovirus? What kind of virus is HIV actually? This is not a debat Doc, just want to know directly from The Expert.

I hope you are willing to answer my final questions on this Thread Doc..
You know, it is so hard to find an Expert like you in Indonesia..
probably will not find it..

That's why I came here because I confidence with your Advices..
And one more, may I open new thread regarding PPP (pearly penile papule) ?

Once again, Thank You Doc for the answers..

Greetings from Indonesia,
Your Online Patient.

Thanks for the reminder. Sorry I missed this until now.

1) We already discussed syphilis. You don't have it.
2) I don't know what caused your penis to appear red, but no STD does such a thing. Penile yeast can be acquired by sex with a woman with a vaginal yeast infection, but it is not considered an STD. Many healthy women have yeast in the vagina, without symptoms. They don't catch it from their partners.
3) Contaminated tattoo equipment could transmit HIV. But it's extremely rare; I am unaware of any reported cases that it happened. That's why I made the satirical comment that the way to catch HIV in a tattoo parlor is to have sex there -- riskier than getting a tattoo.
4) There have been claims of people who believed they acquired HIV by receiving oral to penile sex. None of those cases was proved to be true. I cannot speculate on the details. If this occurs at all, it is extremely rare.
5) The antigen component of the test is only for HIV1, but the antibody component detects all HIV2 infections by 6 weeks.
6) HIV is in the class of virus called retrovirus. Beyond that, you can do your own online searching.

That completes this thread. I hope this and the previous discussion have been helpful. But please note the forum does not permit repeated questions on the same topic or exposure. This will have to be your last one; future new questions about this exposure, testing, and your fears about HIV and other STDs may receive no reply and the posting fee will not be refunded. This policy is based on compassion, not criticism, and to reduce temptations to keep paying for questions with obvious answers. In addition, experience shows that continued answers tend to prolong users' anxieties rather than reducing them. Finally, such questions have little educational value for other users, one of the forum's main purposes. Thanks for your understanding.
