[Question #4991] Hvs-2

I was wondering if you could submit the question for me order #6569
Topic herpes
Hello I’m back,
It has been 9 months since my brief protected encounter with a csw
My test results at 4weeks where
Hvs1 19.00
Hvs2 1.00 equivocal
Labcorp
Some testicular discomfort on the right testicle
Since then I’ve had four white heads spear on the shaft of my penis (one every couple months)
Three cases of balanitis
Sesivity at foreskin tiny red numbs and red patches
Weird hair poking sensation on testicles
And for the last 6months Daily what I think is my right lymph nodes feel swollen
And a dull felling on the right abdominal just inside of hip up past belly button
I have scheduled a new test round with labcorp.
My questions
1 what a my to make of the symptoms described, I know they are not the typical hsv2 symptoms, but I guess I’m just concerned because this didn’t happen before my encounter
2. If I am hsv2 positive on my test what numbers should I expect 3.5 and higher?
3. If I still get an equivocal or low positive at 9 months what would you recommend I do?

I don't believe any of what you describe is related in any way to herpes. I would put forth the possibility that you never looked this closely and often at your genitals as you have since the encounter with CSW and perhaps you are noticing much more now. Herpes does not cause any sensation in the testicles nor abdomen.
If you are positive for HSV 2, you would need a confirmatory test like the western blot if your index value is between 1.1 and 3.5
Any low positive should be confirmed with a western blot, in my opinion.

Terri
I just received my test results from test at 9months from my exposure. this time my results where all negative with the exception of hvs1 that I already knew I had I’m so exited I could pee my pants. I don’t have hsv2!!!!
It is now obvious to me that what I have is genitaly focused anxiety. And I possibly injured my self by inspecting my self constantly the first month after the encounter.
There are some real symptoms there but they may have been there before like you said.
Thank you for all your help

Sorry one more follow up question about my test results
You had said that sometimes the positive hvs1 can affect the hvs2 On the igg test
And also that protein in the blood can sometimes trigger an equivocal result or low positive
If my results at four weeks where
Hsv1 19.00
Hsv2 1.00
And at 9 months
Hsv1 16.50
Hsv2 <91
Is that a song that the hvs1 may have affected the hvs2 because it was higher at the four weeks?
If you have protein in your blood that resembles the hvs2 antibodies would those show up on every test?

Yes, it could be that your HSV 1 positive result caused your HSV 2 to look equivocal at your first test but that influence appeared to be gone at your second test. Yes, if you had the protein we've discussed, it may well show up in these tests. Usually, it results in an index value that is higher than 1.00

Interesting I can see now why it’s so important to not test after a low to no risk encounter I feel like if I would have reached out to this forum before I tested I may not have gone through the last 9 months of wondering what if. But I guess I learned a lot during the process
Thanks again
