IgG blood test result came back hsv1 high 16.70 and hsv2 normal <0.91
What does that mean? About to show my girlfriend these results from a 10 panel test but want to understand it first.

You are infected with HSV 1 which is the cause of the vast majority of cold sores and sometimes genital infection. You are negative for HSV 2, the most common cause of recurrent genital herpes.

HSV 1 IgG, Type Spec 16.70 HIGH 0.00-0.90 index 01
Negative <0.91
Equivocal 0.91 - 1.09
Positive >1.09
Note: Negative indicates no antibodies detected to
HSV-1. Equivocal may suggest early infection. If
clinically appropriate, retest at later date. Positive
indicates antibodies detected to HSV-1.
HSV 2 IgG, Type Spec <0.91 NORMAL 0.00-0.90 index 01
Negative <0.91
Equivocal 0.91 - 1.09
Positive >1.09
Note: Negative indicates no antibodies detected to
HSV-2. Equivocal may suggest early infection. If
clinically appropriate, retest at later date. Positive
indicates antibodies detected to HSV-2.
That is what the results say. Why is it on the line of negative AND equivocal? I don't understand why it's the same for the high end of negative and low end of equivocal..

I don't understand your question.
These results are simply giving your number (positive 1, negative 2) and further explains what negative, equivocal and positive results mean.a

I think I understand the that my result for hsv2 just mean that they are somewhere below 0.91 and not actually 0.91 because of the < which means I'm negative. Wondering why the hsv1 is so high though @ 16.70
I have had cold sores in the past and pretty bad a couple months ago when o was overly stressed. Can hsv1 be both genital one oral?
