[Question #5093] Stripped Club

Hi doctors, a week ago I was in a strip club in Madrid and my only exposure were touching the girl and having a few kisses with close mouth (pecks) and I did not realized my lips were chapped and a little cracked. Is there any risk of getting an STD because of this incident? Do i need to do any test as a result of this? and can I have unprotected sex with my wife?
Thanks

Welcome to our Forum.  I'll be glad to comment.  You are in the clear. There are no STIs that are transmitted by either touching or though kissing, particularly closed mouth kissing.  Recently some investigators have suggested that gonorrhea may be transmitted by open-mouth kissing and saliva exchange but this is a controversial suggestion and is not uniformly accepted.

In that your kissing was closed mouth, this was a no risk event. That your lips were chapped does not change this in any way.  No reason for concern, no reason for testing.  EWH

Doctor, another question for future reference if by any chance she gave a bj to another client before me, would that be a risk, and also if this would have been an open mouth kiss? and also if by any chance she had a cut in her lips?
thanks

Neither of the scenarios you describe are reason to worry, even about open mouth kissing.  Similarly, a cut on her mouth would still not be a concern or a risk.  EWH---

so i know is my last question.
That means that in no way scrapped or chapped lips are a point of entry for an HIV virus assuming they are dried and sometimes with a little blood because they are superficial? and even after this if by any chance because i know i will be paying attention, i develop any kind of symptoms during the next 2 or 3 week, it wont be a chance of an HIV infection?

Repeating your question will not change my answer.  Chapped, scraped lips do not represent a risk factor for HIV.  Any symptoms you develop in the next 2-3 weeks will be coincidental and will not reflect HIV acquired through touching or kissing.

As you point out, this will complete this thread. EWH
