[Question #5164] STD complication

I am a male who was sexually active with women, I was diagnosed with chlamydia and have been treated multiple times due to possible re-exposure with doxycycline mono, and doxy hyclate however I still feel this dripping feeling coming from my penis but nothing is coming out, no discharge, is this normal? Could I have something else? The symptoms come and go throughout the day.

Welcome to our Forum.  I'll try to help.  Your answers to several questions will help me to provide accurate information.  For instance, since your initial positive diagnosis, have you had additional positive tests for chlamydia or have you been re-treated for continuing symptoms and/or possible re-exposure?  Similarly, have you been tested for penile/urethral white blood cells?

It is not all that uncommon for persons who acquire STIs to have continued symptoms due to awareness of normal sensations which are detected because of heightened awareness.  Is there visible discharge?  Are there stains on your underwear?

Based on your responses, I will try to provide additional suggestions.  EWH

I have been tested a week after treatment, is that too early to be tested? That might have been the problem.

I wanted to get treated again because I didn’t feel 100% back to myself

I have not been tested for white blood cells, how would I do that?

And no visible discharge, no stains at all, pee stains after peeing but that is pretty normal

"Not feeling back to normal" could have many origins including persisting worry/anxiety.  The treatment you received is highly effective and should be trusted.  .   With negative results is strong evidence that persisting infection is not the problem but at this point I would suggest further evaluation which might include Gram stain of a swab specimen looking for increased numbers of white blood cells and perhaps urine testing for trichomonas and Mycoplasma genitalium  EWH---

Am I able to go back to having sex? Is trichomonas contagious?

Trichomonas is an STI and an occasional cause of urethral (penile) discomfort on urination.  Given that you don't feel normal, the safest approach would be to seek evaluation and possibly testing by an experienced clinician.  EWH  ---

I was put on 7 days of flagyl along with the doxycycline for my chlamydia treatment, would the flagyl treat trichomonas? So I can rule that out? And can you explain the dripping feeling but nothing coming out?

yes, the flagyl would treat trichomonas is present.

The persistent abnormal sensation is the reason that I recommended being checked as described above.
