Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your confidence in our services.

You needn't worry at all. The massage itself was no risk. Having condom protected vaginal sex is slightly risky -- condoms are not 100% effective against skin-to-skin STD transmission (herpes, HPV, syphilis), but they are highly protective even against these. And protection is 100% or close to it for others, transmitted primarily through body fluids (gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, hepatitis B). STD testing usuallly is unnecessary and not recommended after single condom-protected exposures. In addition, you do not know your partner had any transmissible infections; at any point in time, most female sex workers do not have active STDs.

As for your symptoms, it is not possible for symptoms to start only 6 hours after exposure. That's pretty much true for all infections of any kind:  even the most rapid onset (e.g., common colds, some gastrointestinal viruses), 1-2 days is the minimum; and for any STD that could potentially explain your painful urination, it's generally 3-5 days for gonorrhea and 7-10 days for chlamydia. If a spermicide was used -- or if the condom was packaged with spermicidal chemicals, such as nonooxynol 9 -- that can cause urethral irritation and pain. But even this seems unlikely -- if that were the explanation, it would have been painful the very first time you urinated after sex, which probably was sooner than 6 hours later. As for your other symptoms (abdominal pain, sweating, white tongue, etc), no STD ever causes these things. Your urologist jumpted the gun in treating you -- we would not have done that if you had come to our clinic. Finally, the fact that your symptoms have not cleared up with these antibiotics also is proof that no STD explains them. Most of them probably are just the effect of anxiety and worry magnifying minor symptoms or even normal body sensations that otherwise would not bother you.

So my advice is to do your best to stop worrying. If you would like additional reassurance, you could have an HIV blood test 6 weeks after the event. Because of the antibiotics, there is no point in testing now (or in the future) for gonorrhea, chlamydia, or syphilis. And herpes is not a possible cause of the symptoms you have, and the HSV blood tests are not accurate enough to recommend testing in people potentially exposed but without symptoms.

I hope this information is helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

I forgot to tell you that i also have itching all over the body including penis and anus.I have some yellow spots in my arms and legs(when they tested me for uti they told me that i had i high level of bilirubin in my urine....i made some resarches and seems like it has to do with liver not functioning well.....in the last 6 months i have been taking Clomid 50 mg every other day because i have low testosterone level.....I found out that clomid damages the liver if used for long time).I have an appointment with urologist on April 10th but i might neet to see him earlier because my symptoms are not getting any better(even after using to many antibiotics). Also seems like i have pain in kidneys sometimes and lower back pain.My lower abdomen besides pain i feel like there is a fire over there...it burns very bad. Also burning in penis is when i urinate and dont urinate.Do you think my hiv test after six weeks will come back negative?

No STD causes symptoms like these, and we deal only with STD related issues. And I really don't know anything at all about Clomid. You're going to have to continue working with your own doctors. But for sure none of this is due to any STD and are not from the sexual exposure you described. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Good luck with it.---

Do you think my hiv test(combo 4th generation)6 weeks after the possible exposure will come back negative. When is a hiv test (combo)cosidered conclusive?I also have some red lines in eyes and burning and itching eyes.I also have some crazy ears itching.I have lost of appetite(stress i gues) and a metal test in my mouth. My scrotum is red and itchy and rednes where thighs meet scrotum. The itching and rednes of my scrotum maybe is psoriasis.Do you think the yellow spots in my skin are because i might have hepatites?I thank you so much for everything you do for us.

For sure your HIV test will be negative. The 4th generation tests are conclusive any time 6 weeks or longer after the last possible exposure.

HIV and other STDs do not cause the symptoms you describe now or previously. Serious liver disease, including hepatitis, can cause yellowing of the skin (jaundice), but then the entire skin surface is colored yellow. It does not cause yellow spots.

Keep working with your doctor. Your symptoms have nothing to do with the sexual exposure you have described. Do your best to believe it and stop worrying about it.

That completes the two follow-up comments and replies included with each question and so concludes this thread. I hope the discussion has been helpful.---
