Dr. Hook, I just wanted to ask you if after all we talk i trust every single comment you mention about the zero risk of acquiring hiv by any kind of kissing regardless of chapped lips, mouth ulcers, bleeding gums, etc as well as touching. My only question, is it normal for ARS to present as a mild soar throat after 2 weeks for 5 days, a few days after starting with muscles and joints aches after the soar throat desapeared lasting almost 4 week and still with a little discomfort (I was able to run while having the aches, the were just on the shoulders, elbow and hands) and in the meantime the soar throat came back (that was in the middle of the muscles and joint aches) aprox 5 weeks after the exposure for another week.

I'm sorry that you continue to worry about the possibility of having acquired HIV from kissing. My response has not changed. Typically the symptoms of the ARS all occur at the same time- a severe sore throat, severe muscle and joint aches, and high fever (some patients describe it as the worst flu-like illness they have ever had). Typically the ARS occurs at about 10 -21 days. For it to occur at 5 weeks would be most atypical.
As you know, I have tried to inform you that there is no risk and no need for testing. My efforts to relieve your concerns do not seem to be helping. You can prove to yourself that you were not infected by testing at this time with a combination HIV antigen/antibody (4th generation) test. If your symptoms were due to HIV, the test would certainly be positive since the symptoms of the ARS occur at the time that antibodies are being formed and HIV antigen levels are very high. If you must prove to yourself you were not infected, testing would do this. While I do not believe there is any medical or scientific reason for testing, since you are having trouble believing my assessment, perhaps a negative test will help you to move on. EWH

Thanks, I trust everything you have said. My doubt was because I never had joint pains and because it was strange to have a mild soar throat at 2 weeks, then joints and muscles discomfort starting at 3 lasting up today almost 4 weeks and a soar throat after 5 weeks. I always thought ARS symptoms appear and disappear about the same time not a week or two apart. Thanks for all the help

ARS symptoms tend to occur at pretty much the same time.
Also, I must warn you, this is your 3rd set of questions related to the events you have described. Things are getting redundant. I must warn you that repetitive, anxiety-driven questions may be closed without an answer and without return of your payment in the future. Our Assessments do not change and repetitive questions are of little value to clients or to others who read our threads to learn about STIs and STI risks. I hope you will understand. EWH

Thanks, i would take your advise. Just to conclude, i would forget about it, continue sex with my wife without any concerns and even if i go the muscles and joints pain with a soar throat this is not consistent with ars based on the risk because kissing is not a risk for hiv regardless of gums, lips, or mouth soar or blood.
