Hello and sorry to be back.

Today, 27 days past my performing analingus incident, i had a 4th generation alere determine ag/ab rapid blood test done at a planned parenthood clinic.  The test came back negative for HIV.   This is I trust good news!

May I consider this test conclusive as to the incident and no further testing required ?

Thank you.

As you have been told in two previous threads, this event carried no significant HIV risk and you didn't need testing. However, if you were going to test anyway, you should have waited until the time for 100% conclusive results, which is 6 weeks for the AgAb (4th generation) HIV blood tests, including Determine®).

Combining that with the near zero risk of the exposure, and it calculateds to less than one chance in millions you have HIV, i.e. zero for all practical purposes. So the answer is yes:  this is good news.

If you decide to have yet another test at the conclusive interval of 6 weeks, you can be sure of a negative result. When that result is in hand, you won't need to confirm its reliability with us -- it will be reliable and conclusive. Thus, no need to keep this thread open -- and you were advised last time about the policy about repeated questions on the same exposure or related issues. That that completes this discussion.
