[Question #5317] Mild discomfort when ejaculating

The other day when I was masturbating, I felt a slight discomfort when I ejaculated. I was in a rush. It’s hard to describe as it wasn’t pain but it felt weird. As the day went on, I started freaking out and went to med express. Dr. Examined my penis(nothing unusual)and had me do a urine test which came back negative. She thought I may have just pulled too hard or something and told me to take ibuprofen for several days but to follow up with family doc if it didn’t improve. I have no pain and am urinating fine but now freaked out about masturbating. I keep reading the threads and my mind is telling me that this isn’t a long lost std from many months or years ago now creating symptoms. Does this sound like any std? I do have a follow up with my family MD just to see if he thinks this warrants any additional tests. I know any prior exposures you have told me were non exposures so that is the only thing keeping me calm now. Thank you for the response.

Welcome back to the forum. Thanks for your question.
I've never heard of any STD causing ejaculatory pain or discomfort. I'm not an expert in this area, but my understanding is that many men experience ejaculatory pain from time to time, especially if the situation is hurried. I believe it's just due to transient muscle tension in and around the internal genital organs (prostate, seminal vesicles, etc). Or maybe minor trauma if the masturbation was vigorous, as your doctor suggested. In any case, if you haven't had any true sexual exposures since the non-exposure events described in your previous three threads, there's no way you have an STD of any kind -- certainly none that could cause the discomfort described. If pain doesn't continue or return, I see no need for another doctor visit and certainly not for any STD testing.
Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Thank you for the quick response. I’ve been back for Asian massage but just a massage about 6 months ago. I had boxers on the entire time even though her hand may have brushed across my genitals(covered by boxers). I didn’t think symptom last week was std related but still wanted to check. I wasn’t sure if discomfort or pain while ejaculating was an std symptom and you answered that. Thanks!

Yes, I saw your previous threads and the exposures described. No risk, no worry.---
