[Question #5340] STD risk from blood and vaginal fluid on base of penis

I am a 48 year old male. Until yesterday, I have not had sex with anyone other than my wife for 27 years. I am now separated and 24 hours ago I had vaginal intercourse with a promiscuous woman at a massage parlor. I had a condom covering 2/3 of my penis. After 10 minutes of intercourse, we noticed that there was blood and probably vaginal secretions below the condom on my skin at the base of my penis. We both immediately went to the shower and washed with soap and water. I inspected the condom by filling it with water and there were no leaks. We went back to the room and she was inspecting her vagina with her hands. She said it tore (not menstrual). She left the room to wash her hands and came back to finish me with a handjob (no condom). Other details are that she was kissing me some but not on the mouth and I did lick her nipples. 30 min after we finished I rinsed my penis with rubbing alcohol, then with water and then with hydrogen peroxide. I do not want to take any chances.
What are risks for any and all stds especially hiv and herpes?
Do I need to start PEP, antibiotics or other antiviral treatment?
If so, where do i go?
When do I need to get tested?
What should I do?

Welcome to our Forum. I'll be glad to comment. The effect of condoms occurs because the urethra (the opening at the tip of the penis) is covered by the condom. STIs, including HIV enter the body through the urethra. Thus, as long as the condom remained on the tip of your penis (and from your reports, it was) it would have done its job. Further, there is no more risk from exposure to blood from a sexual partner than there is from exposure to genital secretions (the amount of bacteria/viruses are the same in blood and genital secretions). Thus:
There is no risk for gonorrhea, chlamydia, or HIV.
The risk of herpes from this exposure is very, very low and should not concern you.
There is no medical need for testing of any sort.
I would not be concerned if I were you.
I hope that this assessment is helpful to you. EWH
