[Question #5512] Massage Oil in Eye
|
Thank you for taking the time to review my question
Last week I received a “happy ending” massage- hand job only
About 10 minutes after the massage I wiped my eye and some of the oil from her hands that had dropped on my arm got into one eye
If for some odd reason there had been blood, fluid, etc.... on her hand which had gotten into the oil would enough time had passed for the HIV virus to become deactivated?
Common sense tells me this would be very unlikely- wanted to get your opinion just in case
Thank you

Welcome to the Forum and thanks for your question. I happened to be on the site around the time your question arrived so you are getting a response somewhat more quickly than is usual. If there are further questions, they may take longer to get back to you.
I understand your concern over a potential exposure such as this and am delighted to be able to assure you that this was a no risk event. If the oil had been contaminated by blood or genital secretions from a person with HIV or, for that matter, any other STI, the microorganisms would be non-infectious both after exposure to the environment and after exposure to the oil itself (which is likely to be directly toxic to the microbes). No one has ever been documented to have acquired infection through an exposure of this sort. I would not worry about this, nor would I suggest any medical of scientific need for testing of any sort. Dr. Hook
Thank you for the prompt and reassuring response.
The advice you and Dr HHH have been advocating for years still holds true
-no bare penis in rectum, vagina, and rarely mouth or shared injection equipment = no HIV Ever!
Best wishes to you and the entire ASHA Team
