As discussed previously, any symptoms you have now -- including the red bump -- cannot be an STD from the events described. And no STD is a likely cause of this. If somehow related to those events, it would have to be from minor trauma to the skin. We do not accept or look at posted photos on this ofrum; that comes too close to practicing medicine online, which we cannot do. If it persists or you otherwise remain concerned, you'll have to see a doctor.  I will not speculate further about possible causes, so please don't ask.

The only reason I ask is because this description stated below is exactly what it looks like and today is the 3rd week since the incident.

syphilis sore (called a chancre) pops up — that sore is where the syphilis infection entered your body. Chancres are usually firm, round, and painless, or sometimes open and wet. There's often only 1 sore, but you may have more. ... It's easy to mistake a chancre for an ingrown hair, pimple, or harmless bump.

Basically my question is do syphilis sores occur on the hands or arms if they don’t then disregard everything and I apologize for bothering

Or is the syphilis rash on the hands contagious if it somehow touched my skin

I’m at my doctors office right now he inspected it and said it’s some sort of lesion and that I need to be tested for syphilis and HSV 2

As I said above, the exposure you had carried no risk of syphilis or herpes. If either diagnosis is confirmed, you caught it somewhere else. Syphilis skin rash can appear on the hands and arms, but does is not contagious. Heterosexually transmitted syphilis is rare in the US. Return to let me know the result of your doctor's evaluation and testing. I won't have any further advice or comments until then.---

Like I said doc I haven’t had any exposures to anything besides to the one described to dr hook 2 years ago this was it he ordered a rpr w reflex or something and hsv 2 he said he honestly was not sure what it is and that it doesn’t look of classical syphilis or hsv 2 but reguardless sent me to the lab to draw blood for them and I went if it was either std would the test show positive or has it not been long enough since exposure and I will post results as soon as I receive them from my dr

I stand by my statements above:  whatever the cause of the sore, it isn't an STD from the events described. I also said that if it is somehow related to that event, I would suspect an injury, not an infection of any kind. I expect the tests being done to be negative. Continue to follow up with your doctor, and I will leave the thread open so you can let me know those tests results, if you wish to do so. But do not post anything else until then. If you do, I won't have a reply and the thread will be closed. And no more new questions about this exposure and your symptoms will be permitted -- standard forum rules.---

He also said that it could just be irritated skin and is not a ulcer or canker sore of any sort and that he’s recommending me to a surgeon to have a circumcison done my only question to you doc is am I safe like you have said before and can I have normal love life with my wife again

Thanks forr the follow-up. I'm glad to hear of the negative lab tests, as well as your doctor's judgment -- which exactly agrees with mine -- that you have no STD, perhaps just some sort of skin irritation (maybe related to trauma if the contact through your clothing was vigorous enough). Since you have no infection you can transmit to your wife, of course it is safe to resume unprotected sex with her. Indeed, you never needed to stop!

That concludes this thread. I hope the discusison has been helpful. Please note that repeated anxiety driven questions on the same topic are not permitted. This must be your last one about these issues. More would be deleted without reply (and without refund of the posting fee). Thanks for your understanding of the policy.
