Welcome back to the Forum.  On this occasion I'll be answering your question.  The event you describe is relatively low risk for HIV and other STIs. Please know that most commercial sex workers do not have HIV or other STIs and even when they do, HIV is transmitted from an untreated infected woman only about once in every 2500 exposures.  Your risk for other STIs, particularly chlamydia and gonorrhea is a bit higher than your risk for HIV but still low.  You may wish to get a urine test for chlamydia and gonorrhea in the next few days.  As for HIV, if you choose to test (again the risk for infection is VERY low) testing using the 4th generation, combination HIV antigen/antibody test is more than 99% conclusive at 4 weeks and totally conclusive 6 weeks after exposure.

I hope that this information is helpful.  EWH

Thanks for the response I noticed for hiv you said is very low and if I choose to test.I got tested in June and this the only exposure since. in your honest opinion do I really need it I just my anxiety is very bad.I get the 1 in 2500 but how many csw have hiv and where do I stand in a medical standpoint with hiv as in 1 in 50000 or 1 100000

The likelihood that your partner had HIV is low.  If you are in the U.S. I would estimate the prevalence of HIV among masseuses to be less than 1%.  Thus your risk for HIV from the brief exposure you describe would be less than 1 in 250,000.  Personally I would not be too worried.  EWH---

This is not something to worry about.  By less than I mean the fewer than 1 person in 250,000 persons in your situation will get HIV.  Your chance of being struck by lightening is much higher.

Please don't worry.  This is my third response.  Therefore this thread will now be closed.  Take care.  EWH
