In your 35 years of practice have you come across a patient who was infected with HSV-1 genital herpes from a partner who was positive with genital HSV-1 through sexual intercourse?

No, but it has been documented in the literature.

Does having oral HSV-1 and performing oral sex have a higher risk of infecting a negative partner or someone with genital HSV-1 and having sexual intercourse with a negative partner? I would like to have some additional comparisons and data in terms of risk to provide to my future partner/s. Thank you

Sorry about the confusion. I would like to have an example to provide to my future partner regarding the level of risk of contracting genital HSV-1 from me through sexual intercourse versus say the risk of someone who has oral HSV-1 and performing oral sex on their HSV-1 negative partner (this is how I contacted genital HSV-1). From the shedding rates you provided in an earlier question, it seems like the latter is riskier than contracting HSV-1 through sexual intercourse?

Receiving oral sex from someone with HSV 1 orally with recurrent cold sores is FAR riskier than having intercourse with someone who is HSV 1 infected genitally. Definitely
