[Question #5962] Trying to make sense of this

I had protected intercourse at an asian massage parlor about a year ago. The whole thing lasted about 10 minutes I would say. I've never done such a thing my entire life and have regretted it ever since.

The very next day (and almost every day since) I started experiencing a burning/tingling sensation on my thighs. It would come and go throughout the day, and move from my thighs, to my penis head, to my anus. I never experienced a breakout with the water like blisters that I see pictures of on the internet.

At 10 weeks I tested negative for the IGG HSV 2 test along with all other STIs
At 9 months post I tested negative again for IGG HSV 2 test along with all other STIs

The burning/tingling has not gone away. Its almost a weekly thing. If I noticed its been a few days the burning will come back.

I have never had a breakout of any sort. I did have a few pimple like whiteheads on my inner thigh a couple of months ago, but the majority of them had a hair that was protruding from the whitehead that looks like your text book case of folliculitis. I know this because I had the exact same thing on my inner knee once and thats what my dermatologist said it was.

Given these facts would you say I have Genital Herpes or is this more a mental thing?

I have not had sexual intercourse since than because I'm scared I may give it to someone if I have it. Its been a year!

I have scoured these forums and I am under the impression that the burning sensation for a  HSV2 outbreak would only last a couple of days before an outbreak.

Any insight you can provide would be very much appreciated. Thank You.

Again its been a year and I have had two negative IGG Tests 10 weeks and 9 months post.

Have you posted on this forum again about your concerns? this sounds familiar.
The condom was quite protective and herpes symptoms don't show up the very next days - it takes longer.
All in all, this sounds absolutely nothing like herpes to me or any other STD.  I just think it's more worry than physical - you are perhaps over -recognizing symptoms that before you would not have paid any mind.
Believe your IgG results.

Terri, Thank you for your response. That does make me feel better! Admittedly I am a bit of a hypochondriac. I can see how that could play into my issues.

No ma'am I have never posted here before.

If I may ask one last question. During the same encounter I was given a nude massage and "table shower" for clean up. There was never any intercourse during these events and she was clothed during those portions. She did use her hands to touch my genitals briefly during the massage and used a towel for the table shower. Not sure if the towel was used or new. Im assuming it was new.

I'm pretty sure these would be considered no to low risk events for herpes from reading through other forums but since Im here I would like to alleviate these concerns as well.

At the end of the day I guess the whole "skin to skin" sti thing has me confused/concerned. I guess thats why I've been so fixated on Herpes as opposed to say HIV. I hope that makes sense.

My apologies for being so ignorant on the issue.

I would agree that these are no risk events for you.
And I understand the confusion about skin to skin.  It really should say very thin skin like penis skin to mucous membrane.  And your concerns make total sense, when you hear that statement about skin to skin.
But your situation does not present a risk for a sexually transmitted infection.  And you never have to apologize for asking questions, that's what we are here for!

Terri,

Thank you for your very kind and non judge mental way handling of my questions.

I feel much better. The mind is a powerful thing.

The two negative IgG results paired with your sound expertise should trump this nagging burning skin, and that is what I am going to hold onto as I finally move on from this whole thing.

Thank you again and have a great rest of your day.
