[Question #6040] Hiv worry

Dear doctor ,
I am a gay male . I have never had anal sex . Recently I had an encounter with a male of unknown hiv status . He is a doctor and says he has tested 3 months back .
We kissed and he rubbed his penis on the upper part of the anal opening . I could feel him pushing through , however he wasn’t pushing though the anal hole but on the anal crack right at the top .
The issue is that I used a trimmer on my Anus and a bit inside the ass crack the morning before I met him .
The next day after the rubbing my anal crack was a bit sore . He did NOT penetrate into the rectum and my upper ass crack was a bit sore the next day .
My worry is that his precum rubbed against the upper sore part of my anus . Am I at risk for hiv ?
I now have a small lymph node in my groin .
Also my left hip hurts when I press , I assume it’s a lymph node coming out .
I do not have any lymph nodes on the neck region or armpit . Am I at risk for hiv ?
I am very worried.
Kindly advise . Thanks

Welcome back to the forum. However, I'm sorry you found it necessary, since the answers to these questions should be obvious from your recent discussion with Dr. Hook, which I have read. As he said at that time, there is essentially no risk of HIV from the sorts of contact you have described both at that time and in this question. Without actual anal penetration, you will never be at significant risk of HIV. As for your symptoms, they are not suggestive of a new HIV infection, which would never cause a single enlarged lymph node or hip pain. And the lymph node inflammation associated with HIV generally is not tender or painful; your hip pain probably is not from lymph node inflammation.
---
If you remain concerned, you could be tested (again?) for HIV. I recommend you consider it primarily for reassurance, not for any actual medical need -- the same advice Dr. Hook gave last time.
I hope this information is helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Dear dr ,
Thanks for your response . The upper anal poring had a bit of rash and was slightly sore when he rubbed n pressed his penks against it .
I hv heard that if pre fun comes in contact with broken skin it can be risky . Kindly advise .
Sorry to bother you again

Dead doc Handsfield ,
Sorry forgot to mention I also have a pain in my left arm crease . I showed it to the doctor he said it’s a very small node but not a major one .
Could hiv cause that to swell ? Request your advise . Thanks

The additional information does not change my assessment and advice. Your symptoms do not suggest HIV.
---You're basically trying to balance the expert, highly professional world class science-based advice on this forum with BS posts on internet sites that have no f***ing idea what they are talking about. The internet is not your friend in this. There has NEVER been a scientifcially validated case of HIV transmitted because of contact with genital fluids that contacted skin, with or wihtout skin rash or other skin problems. Don't confuse theoretical concerns with real life. You were not at risk for HIV from this event. Believe me or not, I don't care -- but this isn't a debate and I won't argue about it. You don't have HIV. Feel free to prove it to yourself with a lab test. Until you do that, I won't have any further comments or advice.
