[Question #6096] Hsv1

We both recently found out we are hsv1 +.    I have both oral and general. We believe she only has it orally...  i am having and outbreak and   this I asked her to test:   When I showed her what a cold sore looks like she told me that as a kid she had this 2x.  And then never again.    Assuming that  Hers is only oral... can I give her the virus in her vag during  sexual intercourse ??   Her Igg is 5+ my is 26.6..  is there any meaning to this???

It is extremely unlikely that once you have HSV 1 in one location on your body, you would acquire it in a new location.  I saw it possibly once in 35 years and never again.  If I were in your situation, I would not worry about this at all.  The chances are so very very remote of her getting this genitally at this point.

No, there is no meaning, and I would guess if you look closely (and I could be wrong here), there is  a">" sign by the 5.  So they aren't spelling out the specific number, they are simply saying it was greater than 5.  That is the usual way some labs report out these results

Ok thank you.  Yes it was just > 5 but not specific number.  We used different labs.  Thank you
