[Question #6188] Tingling in extremities

Hello,

I have visited the forumn before and am sad to have returned. Over the weekend I had unprotected  sex with an ex. I wear an iud.

He has assured me he was tested recently and everything came back negative. And that he has only slept with one other person since we broke up. I have been tested since our break up so if i had something new, it would be this exposure.

My concern right now is tingling. I have a lot of tingling that ranges down my legs to up my arms and shoulders. I know most logically this is probably related to my anxiety, but i also know its a symptom of herpes. I have no lesions or bumps that i can see. Is this tingling a cause for concern?

When people tell me that their main symptoms is tingling and they want to be tested to rule out herpes, a very very high percentage of these people test negative for herpes.  And those who test positive for herpes may have tingling but the tingling may not be due to herpes.  You might want to check to be certain that his testing included herpes antibody testing.  But even if it didn't, what you describe does not sound herpetic.  I am assuming you have previously tested negative yourself?

A year ago, i tested negative and hadn’t had any symptoms i felt warranted a test.

I did decide to go get an igg test to get a baseline and am awaiting results.

Last night i noticed two small bumps around my anus. They don’t hurt or look like blisters. They are more skin color with possibly a blueish tint. A couple days ago I had some mild diarrhea so it could be related to that. I would not have noticed them had i not been looking aggressively. Do these sound like herpes?

This doesn't sound consistent with herpes but have you ever had a hemorrhoid?  They often appear blue or purple as they are enlarged blood vessels with trapped blood inside.  Or it could just be an enlarged vein at the anus.  At any rate, they don't sound like herpes to me.  If they are still concerning you, or they open up, you should see a clinician for clarification.
