[Question #6341] Dog Scratch follow-up

Dr Hook, sorry to insist on this but I just needed to clarify on aspect in your answer. In my previous question, you said:
‘Even if he is scratched and you are immediately scratched with the same paw there is no risk.’
I just wanted to confirm that this is no risk even if he gets scratched to draw a little blood and there is a little blood transfer from his scratch to my scratch.
Can you please confirm this last aspect, just wanted to make sure you understood my question. I think I am developing a little OCD, I just never had an HIV positive friend. I’m sure you can understand this.
Thank you for your understanding. I promise this is my last thread on this.

My goodness. I certainly did understand your anxiety-driven question. Even if blood from a scratch from him and then you were immediately scratched, drawing blood, there would be absolutely no risk for HIV infection. None whatsoever !!!.
My sense is that you are overreacting. I also worry that my replies are feeding your inappropriate, unwarranted anxiety. As a result this thread will be closed immediately. Furthermore should you return with further questions regarding non-sexual contact with your friend, the thread may be closed without Reply and without refund of your posting fee. This is our policy for repetitive, anxiety-driven, speculative questions. I trust you will understand. End of thread. EWH

I think I am overreacting, I have contacted a therapist to discuss these anxieties. I am planning on proposing to my girlfriend soon and get married so I was just worried I was putting her at risk (I want to be the best man for her and nothing to ruin our plans). Sorry if I was a bit insistent with my questions, however all is clear now!
Thanks so much dr Hook, have a great evening
