[Question #6479] STD Scare

In August I hooked up with a older man on a dating website. I'm a male as well.  We had brief protected anal I being the bottom. Brief as in 1 to 2 insertion attempts.

Then we had mutual oral and we both finished and swallowed.

I have tested for all STDs at 2, 4, and 9 weeks. As well as syphilis and HIV at 90 days post exposure and they were negative except herpes.

My symptoms early on were whitest tounge bumps and dierahea. No fever. Currently I have a mild rash on my shin that is itchy and scaly and am having sinus issues along with gastrointestinal issues along with a scalloped tounge.

Current medical history: High blood pressure and fatty liver.

Also the person said they were negative but that doesn't matter.

Now my question is, for this encounter should I be worried about HEP C and it's long test time? Does swallowing increase hep risk? Do I need another hiv test ? Is the tounge issue and or shin rash a concern with this?

Welcome to the Forum. the encounter that you describe was quite low risk as verified by the tests you have had do far.  Condom protected sex is safe sex and few STIs are transmitted by oral sex.  All of the test results that you mention are definitive and need not be repeated.  you are in the clear.  Hepatitis C is not transmitted through oral sex and your rectal exposure was condom protected so you need not worry about hepatitis C.  If you wish to prove to yourself that you were not infected, a blood test at this time will provide conclusive results.  Personally, I would not be worried and would not bother to test.

Neither the tongue lesions nor the shin rash you describe raise any concern about STI.

I hope this helps.  If there are follow-ups or anything is unclear, feel free to use your up to two follow-ups.  EWH

Thank you for the timely answer. I'll probably get tested when I can too relieve my anxiety. I among the others who ask questions have had horrible anxiety over this and been searching symptoms left and right and I know I have to stop.
Thank you for all you do and your guidance.
But since I have a follow up

One last question.  Hip pain, butt pain, and knee pain most likely anxiety / sedentary life style issues or could it be something std/sti related?

I cannot tell you what your hip, butt and knee pain are due to but I am confident they are not the result of an STI, including herpes.  They could be the result of back problems or some other process.  Best to ask your doctor's assistance in evaluating this, being confident hat they are not the result of an STI.  EWH

Idk if I have any more questions left. But if I took a hep c test / hiv test now. The Hep C test would be conclusive at around 5 months past exposure? No need to wait 6?

My shin rash just keeps coming and going being itchy and I'm being a hypochondriac.

Thanks

This will be the final response.  Yes, hepatitis C results would be entirely conclusive at this time.  FYI, hepatitis C is very rarely transmitted through sexual contact.  The only sexual activity even vaguely associated with hepatitis C is unprotected receptive rectal intercourse.
