[Question #6496] Could this be Herpes?

I had protected sex briefly and received oral sex for a lengthy amount of time.  The next day I noticed a small redish area on my penis about 3/4 up on the base.   It looked almost like a linear scratch (like a paper cut) or vein issue but it was red around the area.   It was not raised, I felt no pain even when touching, was not an open "sore" (it felt normal), but the skin appeared red.   The area went completely back to normal in about 2 days, no scabbing etc..  I can't be certain that it wasn't present before the encounter but I feel like I would (she would) have noticed.   I have never noticed a red area before on my penis before.   I understand that it is too early for a new herpes infection (the next day), but my worry is that maybe I could have had something previously.   I had previously asked a question about a year ago regarding mutual masturbation with an HSV positive female, so I am now very scared maybe there was something dormant and it just came up.   I realize I should have gotten it swabbed but I monitored and it went completely away in 2 days.   I am wondering if this sounds like it might be a herpes infection?

It is possible that there was some contact between this person's teeth and your penis, causing a red or irritated area and if there was considerable suction, this could also cause redness.  Your symptoms sound absolutely nothing like herpes to me.  Herpes does not go away and look completely normal in 2 days with no scabbing, blistering, pain or openness.  I think this is very likely just a little trauma from extended oral sex.
