[Question #6548] Herpes spread

Hi,
i Found out six years ago that I had genital herpes.  My now wife never caught it from me until about 3 months ago.  Now we both have genital herpes. My question is since we both have genital herpes, what are the risk of performing oral?  Since we both have genital herpes can we give each other oral herpes?  I was told that there isn’t a risk since we have antibodies to defend against it but we wanted to make sure.  Should we just not perform oral during an outbreak?
Thanks

Once you are infected at  one location on your body, it would be very very unusual to acquire this in a new location on your body, so you are correct.  This is true whether there is an outbreak present or not.  I think you're good to go!
