[Question #6966] Follow up | [Question #6947] Protected Sex | Deep Kissing | STI Risk

Dear Doctor,
This is a follow up question. This is purely out of anxiety and need your reassurance.
The two episodes which i already shared ( please check question no: 6947) submitted 22nd of this month
1) Two episodes of Protected vaginal Sex and deep kissing with female commercial workers twice around 2.5 years back
2) Body to Body Massage having masseuse rub her uncovered vaginal over my uncovered penis area ( you already confirmed it as a no risk event. No penetration, no risk.) - this again was more than 12 months back
I just was worried about any other STIs Like ( Mycoplasma Genitalium / MGen) or NGU or any others which are listed on ASHA's website for which tests are normally not readily available. I know i am overthinking but need your assurance. Should i be worried about these or any other STIs?
I never had any symptoms or problems.
I already got the following tests and am clear on these:
HIV
HSV 1 and 2
Syphilis
Gonorrhea
Chalmydia
Hepatitis B and C
Should i be worried about any transmissions risks or having spread any to my spouse ?
Thanks.

I'm sorry you found the need to return. You won't hear anything different than Dr. Hook advised a few days ago. The events you describe carried little or no risk for any STD; since Dr. Hook discussed those aspects in detail, I have nothing more to say about them. You have had no symptoms to suggest any infection from that event. And the tests you had all are highly reliable.
As for the new infections you mention, there is no need to test for NGU if there are no symptoms; and neither NGU nor M. genitalium last more than a few weeks to months, even without treatment. Even if you had somehow been infected with NGU or M. genitalium, by now either of them (and also gonorrhea and chlamyida) would be long gone
No more testing is needed and you can safely continue unprotected sex with your spouse.
I hope these additional comments help you move along without worry. Let me know if anything isn't clear -- but please no repeat questions already answered by Dr. Hook or in my comments above. Thank you.

Thanks Doctor.
What are the chances though to contact these infections (Mgen/ NGU )with the kind of exposure i had?
It is already been 1.5 years since these exposures so the infections if any as mentioned would be long gone right?
Even if i would have passed it to my spouse , she would have cleared the infections as both of us have not had any symptoms?
Also i assume there is no point worrying about any others STIs going by your risk assessment.
Until and unless there aren't any symptoms there is no point worrying right?
sorry if i sound a bit repetitive.
Thanks again.

"Chance of M genitalium and NGU?" Zero.
"long gone right?" See above. I see no need to write it again.
"if i would have passed it to my spouse?" Irrelevant, since there was no chance of you infecting your wife. You cannot transmit something you don't have.
"Also I assume..." and "until and unless...": Correct

Thanks Doctor,
Your responses have been really assuring.
Last two queries pls:
1) On HSV 1 and 2 i got IGG testing and not IGM. The testing was done at least 4 months after exposure. As i read IGM leads to false positives sometimes. Am i good?
2) On herpes other types doctor already clarified that they are not STIs and should not be a point of concern. I was a bit confused here as i read the herpes types HHV 3, 4, 5, 6A - 6B , HHV7 and HHV8 can be transmitted by saliva , are these common in general population mostly acquired in childhood and hence not considered harmful infections. Deep kissing is very common so how one should counter the thought of acquiring any potential harmful HHVs especially deep kissing a female sex worker. I just need to rest my mind on this pls.

1) It's good you didn't get IgM testing for herpes. All true experts know the IgM tests are pretty much meaningless and often misleading. As you have learned, many ()most?) positive results are false.
2) Human herpesviruses 3-8 should be viewed as sometimes sexually transmissible, but rarely sexually transmitted -- except for HHV8 among gay men, and even these are mostly transmitted through saliva, not sexual fluids. No STD clinics, public health agencies, or STD or infectious diseases expert ever recommend testing for any of thise just because of a single sexual encounter; and in general never in heterosexual men or women.
That completes the two follow-up exchanges included with each question and so ends this thread. Please note that the forum does not permit repeated questions on the same topic or exposure. This being your second on this exposure and STD/HIV testing, it should be your last. Future new questions along these lines may receive reply and may be deleted without comment and without refund of the posting fee. This policy is based on compassion, not criticism, and is designed to reduce temptations to keep paying for questions with obvious answers. In addition, our experience is that continued answers to anxiety-driven questions simply prolong those anxieties, when a better option is usually to seek professional counseling. Finally, such questions have little educational value for other users, one of the forum's main purposes.
Thank you for your understanding. I hope the two discussions were helpful and allow you to move on with no further worry.
