[Question #6988] Vaginal secretions and uncircumsized

Dear Dr.

I had an incident with csw last year which i did not think much about at he time. I had vaginal sex with condom for about 30 seconds but i decided to stop and women finished by masturbation for about 5 minutes. The question is will vaginal secretions on her hand be a risk for hiv infection if she masturbated to hard especially if i am uncircumsized.  If no risk will it be because her vaginal secretions were not from deep in her cervix instead from bartholin gland, hiv cannot infect outside body because it is innactive as soon as it leaves body, and last quantity of vaginal secretion  on her hand is not enough to infect.  And no known cases reported by masturbation with vaginal secretions

Welcome to our forum and thanks for your question. You were absolutely correct not to worry about the encounter you describe. Condom protected sex is safe sex and as you point out no STI, including HIV is transmitted through masturbation. This is the case even when individuals involved in mutual masturbation transfer genital secretions from one another on their hands. The reasons for this include a combination of the transfer process itself which reduces the infectious material transmitted, the exposure of potentially infectious material to the environment, and the nature of the contact. This is true even when men are uncircumcised.

I see nothing to worry about in the encounter you described. I see no specific reason for testing of any sort and would not be concerned. I hope this information is helpful to you. If anything is unclear please feel free to use your app to to follow up opportunities for clarification. EWH

Dr. Thank you for your quick reply. To clarify will the notoon that initial secretions of women come from bartholin gland and not cervix be a major reason why mutual masturbation is not a risk. And last question there are no known cases of hiv by mutual masturbation?
Thank you

There are no known cases of HIV acquired through masturbation with another person.  None!

Vaginal secretions never come from a single site such as barthollins glands, the cervix or vaginal glands.  EWH

Dr. So even in cases were female starts to get aroused in light fingering vaginal secretions are from cervix etc. If this is the case the only reason that you cannot get hiv by masturbation is thst virus is inactive immediately and quantity of virus is not enough.

This is a repetitive question.  The sources of the genital secretions (which arris from multiple sources within the genital tract is irrelevant.the FACT is that there has NEVER been a case of HIV proven to have been acquired by exposure to genital secretions transferred in the course of mural masturbation, not ever amongst the millions of cases studied.

This is my 3rd reply to your questions.  As per Forms guidelines, this thread will now be closed. I trust that there will be no need for you to return to the forum with further questions regarding the concerns covered in this discussion. Take care. EWH
