Hi Doctor,

Hope you are well and thank you again for being here on this forum for anxious peoples.

This is a follow up on 7015.Unfortunately  i still have some anxiety  after my std panel.

I had developed some small bumps lesions all over my body , i went to a dermatologist  who deemed it to be common allergy

My std panel test  was 6 months after the exposure.
1- hiv cmia combo test negative- is this conclusive?
2- hsv1 and 2  igG and igM negative - you say that igG miss out on hsv infections,  can this be the case after 6 months?
3- syphilis- negative
4- chlamydia  - blood test negative, i have read that blood tests are so unreliable. But a negative surely helps right, i mean combine it with the low risk oral sex exposure and then a negative blood test

They didnt do a gono test.

I am really confused as to whether i am cleared of the stds or should i go for further testing.

The small bumps that i had had spread to the entire body ( scrotum and penis )and now my dermatologist  is saying that it is scabies. They are red and appear and disappear  at will

However i fear that it may be some sti or std?

Are my fears justified or are they irrational?

Do i need to go for a chlamydia and gono test again?

Are these symptoms , in your  opinion  related to any sti?

Thank you in advance for all the help.

My apologies,  i have been vaccinated for hep 10 yrs back and have also read that rectal anal sex with blood would meet the conditions  for hep transfer.

Is there anything else that you would suggest to test for given the symptoms

Welcome back, but sorry you're still worried about this 6 month old event, You needn't be.

1) Your HIV test result was conclusive, as we discussed last time.
2) The HSV IgG test detects virtually all HSV2 infections, but misses 30% of ˙HSV1. Happily, HSV1 can pretty much be ignored if not causing symptoms. In other words, you should consider these results conclusive.
3,4) The syphilis result is conclusive. The chlamydia result is meaningless. Even if you had acquired chlamydia or gonorrhea orally, it is probably gone by now; the immune system clears both infections, usually within a few weeks. But if you want even more security about gonorrhea and chlamydia, get tested by throat swab.

Neither HIV nor any other STI is a possible cause of the skin issues you are worried about. It sounds like nothing is abnormal, that you're just examining yourself too closely and misinterpreting normal skin characteristics because of your anxiety. If you are sure something abnormal is going on, see a health professional.  Your fears aren't exactly irrational, but they are not justified. Do your best to accept the reasoned, science based reassurance you are getting here and probably have had from your own doctor(s).

Traumatic anal sex with bleeding would risk hepaititis C. Having been vaccinated, you are immune to hepatitis B, regardless of whatever types of exposure you may have.

You need no further tests of any kind, unless you decide to have a throat swab for gonorrhea and chlamydia. I'm not recommending it and certainly would not do it myself is somehow I were in your situation.

Thank you for the reassuring words doctor, you are a great help.

Neither me nor my wife has had any symptoms  for hsv1 , so i will take your advice and consider the test conclusive, unless you think it is prudent to do another. I dont think a western blot would be available here at these times.

My dermatologists as well as general physician thinks that the skin problem isnt serious and probably just allergey. Everyone in my family has had skin problems some time or the other.

Thank you

I have no qualms in testing but, it isnt recommended to go to a path lab again again with covid.

I would take your advise and follow the medications my doc has prescribed.

Hope i have interpreted your advise correctly.

Thank you again and take care.
