Welcome to our Forum.  Thanks for your question.  I’ll be glad to comment.  Your English is fine.  I believe I understand your question.

I am not sure how you know your partner had HIV or there viral load.  My guess is that is your fear.  If so, without PEP there is a more than 99% probability that you did acquire HIV.  With PEP, the probability of infection, on average, is 99.9% that you would not be infected.   Your test results make the likelihood of your being infected virtually zero.  While I recommend that, as suggested, you repeat your 4th generation test 6 weeks following completion of PEP, I am confident that your test will be negative, proving that you were not infected.

I hope this comment is helpful.  EWH

Thank you dear doctor ... After the relationship we went to the laboratory and did a combo analysis and it was found infected
As for my case, doctor, should I return to my wife, or should I wait?

As I said, there is a more than 99.9% chance that you are not infected.  Whether or not that is sufficient for you to return to unprotected sex with your wife is a personal decision.  I would be comfortable.  EWH ---

Thank you for your follow up question. I’ll be glad to comment.  As I understand it, you have had a repeat fourth generation test for HIV performed 27 days after completion of PEP. It was negative. At about the same time you have noticed too swollen glands in your neck. You are wondering with the reliability of your HIV test is given the swollen glands that you have noted.

The answer is that if the swollen glands that you noted were due to HIV, your test would almost certainly be positive - it was not. Most people do have lymph nodes and glands in the neck which can be felt if a person is looking closely. I suspect that the glands you have noted are normal and if not, they are certainly unrelated to the sexual exposure that you have described. I would not worry further.

I hope this information is helpful and reassuring. As you know, we provide up to three responses to each client’s questions. This is my third response. As a result later today this thread will be closed without further responses. Please take care and please don’t worry. EWH
