I have had HSV for several years now, used this site to get answers previously. I am currently having a situation, that may be hard to describe without submitting a picture. I recently had an HSV outbreak, which was very mild. During this a bump appeared near the corona on my glans. The bump has stayed there for about two weeks now. It is definitely not a herpes blister. But I am not sure what it is, I have no related symptoms, no itching, or pain. Is there anything in your experience that this sounds like? I appreciate any help at all. thank you

It had been suggested by a different web dermatologist that it could be contact dermatitis or candida balanitis. Do either of those sound like a possibility?

Hello, I answer the herpes questions on the board.
Are you certain that what you had going on was a mild herpes outbreak? Can you describe the bump with a bit more detail, please? It is hard, does it have a head, a dent in the middle, is it fluid filled? Has it changed over the two weeks it has been there? Is it flesh-colored?
Candida balanitis would be more like scattered red bumps that are not fluid-filled on the head of the penis, usually not a single bump. Not sure why someone might suggest contact dermatitis. Did these web dermatologists see pictures of the bump?

Hi! yes the web doctor did see a picture, but idk, what he suggested didnt make a lot of sense to me. I wouldnt say the bump is necessarily hard. But it is raised. I noticed it right after the start of an outbreak, but I am pretty positive it is not a blister or a healing one. There is no dent in the middle, it is not filled with any fluid. Id say its been pretty consistently the same, I didnt pay it much mind at first but since it is kind of not going away it has started to concern me more. It is flesh colored, the same as the rest of my skin, maybe slightly red, but it may just look like that since it is raised. Thank you so much for any help, just a little confused.

It could be a few things, but a genital wart comes to mind. I know it's confusing but without a physical exam, it's really not possible to know for sure what this is, but it doesn't sound like a herpes outbreak to me, at this point.

I have not had many sexual partners since covid started and have always used protection. I just dont see a way I could have gotten warts, nor does this really look like a wart. But that is also something that i supposed to could fit. Just doesnt look like a wart at all, just a raised area of skin. But i get that its hard without pics, wish I could send somethign to give you an idea of what I am dealing with.

I don't know that it would be helpful to send a picture, even if this site allowed it, since you are getting such varying opinions from online physicians. Could it just be a little skin tag? You could also look up something called molluscum contagiosum but if the condom was used for all contacts, that seems an unlikely cause also.I'm so sorry I can't be more helpful with a response. I think it will be best for you to have an in-person evaluation by a provider who knows about genital skin conditions, specifically.
