[Question #7202] Hard grinding with thin shorts HIV risk?

6 years ago I had a lapdance. During the dance there was some hard grinding. I had on very thin shorts that were of the basket ball windbreaker type material with no underwear. The dancer had on a thin g-string. I suffer from general anxiety disorder, and when it kicks in my mind starts to obsess over this dance. What I start this anxiety, I always question, what if the tip inserted without me knowing. I see this as unlikely, given I think it would be obvious, and difficult  given I had on shorts, even though they were thin. I spoke to the local clinic at the time and they didn't want to test saying there was no risk here and that testing would feed in to my anxiety. They used "tough love" as they called it.

I wanted to get your thoughts as experts. searching the internet will only lead to more questions and miss information.

Also since this time there have been no encounters that would be considered a risk. I stopped visiting these places after this time.  Thought it was best for my anxiety. having trouble letting this one go when anxiety kicks in.

Thank you for your time.

Welcome to our Forum.  I'll be glad to comment.  The exposure you describe was a no risk event.  No STIs, including HIV, are transmitted without penetration and if penetration had occurred you would have known if.  STIs are not transmitted through material, even if the material is very thin and/or gets wet with genital secretions from either partner.  I see no medical of scientific reason for testing related to the events that you have described.

I hope that this comment is helpful.   EWH

Thank you for you answer this does help. As you know with anxiety the worse question is "What if". I agree that I would of known if penetration had occurred. And with clothing on I can only assume it would be very difficult to achieve without deliberate force anyways.

Thank you again.

I agree.  this was a no risk event.  There is no need for concern.

As per Forum guidelines, this is my 3rd response to this series of questions and therefore the thread will be closed shortly without further replies.  Please don't worry.  Take care.  EWH
