[Question #7219] Std from being rimmed?

Hi dr hhh/hook

I made a dumb mistake after i got into a fight with my wife and visited a massage parlor on Wednesday august 26.(Married man with 2 kids). So i just saw recently someone had the same question exactly (questions #7197). And you guys said “virtually no risk”.  And his rimming was for 20-30 minutes, Mine was 5 seconds max.

The reason why i ask again is im feeling wet/moist by my anus idk if its in my head. I keep going to the bathroom to wipe and theres really nothing there(maybe a little wet), but its hot in n.y and that could be sweat.

It was my first time getting rimmed and didnt even expect or want it. Just wanted a massage and hand job.

Im hsv-1 possitive

Few questions.

1. Obv what could be making me wet/moist by my anus?

2. Should i get tested? I already had sex with my wife smh.

3. How long till a gonorreha/clymidia  test accurate? (If i do plan on getting tested)

4. Should i worry about any other infections/ stis/stds?  ( like syphilis)

5. What do you mean by virtually no risk? Does that mean 0 and i can move on?

6. My friend told me that my queens n.y. hospital gives results in an hour i would love to go to them instead of waiting 2 days for north shore or quest. Is there any difference in there tests ?

Thanks and sorry . What you do is great!

Hey doctors sorry to reply again, i woke up this morning definitely feeling wet/moist went to bathroom to wipe felt like sweat.

Very anxious

Sorry i thought of 2 more questions before you see is so i can get my answers.

1. What am i looking for on the toilet paper will it be like full discharge or it can be sweat looking as well if it was an std?

2. I touched my anus and then my penis if i had an std like gonorreha god forbid will my penis also be discharging from the symptoms or only my anus because thats where the asian lady licked?

Sorry again for the reply before you answered.  i ran out the house asap this morning freaking out. Really want to go get tested but i dont want to go back and forth for a conclusive result.

Welcome to our Forum.  I'll be glad to comment.  Surprise contacts of this sort (I will not call it an exposure, I do not believe there is meaningful risk) quite naturally increase our concern and awareness of possible symptoms or abnormal sensations.  I suspect that is the origin of the wetness you are experiencing.  (BTW, most STIs occurring at the rectum are asymptomatic).  I doubt that the wetness you have noted reflects the presence of an STI).  In answer to your specific questions:

1. Obv what could be making me wet/moist by my anus?
Please see above.  STIs rarely cause rectal discharge.  Among men, other than diarrheal disease, hemorrhoids are the most common cause of a wet sensation.

2. Should i get tested? I already had sex with my wife smh.
I see no scientific reason for testing.  If it is easy to do and would help your concerns, testing using rectal swabs is quite easy.

3. How long till a gonorreha/clymidia  test accurate? (If i do plan on getting tested)
Gonorrhea or chlamydial tests would be positive by now, 5 days before your exposure.  This is particularly true of infection was causing the wetness you have noted.

4. Should i worry about any other infections/ stis/stds?  ( like syphilis)
No.  This is too early for syphilis and other STIs are even more uncommon.

5. What do you mean by virtually no risk? Does that mean 0 and i can move on?
In science there is no such thing as absolutely no risk.  Just as it is virtually possible that you could be struck by a meteorite falling from space while reading this, there is realistically (or virtually) no risk.

6. My friend told me that my queens n.y. hospital gives results in an hour i would love to go to them instead of waiting 2 days for north shore or quest. Is there any difference in there tests ?
If the tests they ar suing for gonorrhea or chlamydia are the Cepheid Gene Expert, indeed results could be available in two hours.

Follow-up questions:
1.   What am i looking for on the toilet paper will it be like full discharge or it can be sweat looking as well if it was an std?
As I noted above, most rectal STIs are asymptomatic. When they do cause symptoms, most typically the discharge looks more like pus than just moisture.

2. I touched my anus and then my penis if i had an std like gonorreha god forbid will my penis also be discharging from the symptoms or only my anus because thats where the asian lady licked?
STIs, including gonorrhea and chlamydia are not transmitted by the transfer of genital secretions from one part of the body to another.

I  hope these replies are helpful and reassuring.  I see no reason for concern related to the exposure you describe.  EWH

Hi dr sorry for the follow up had a questions to get off my chest.

1.If god for bid i got gonorreha  from my anus and i was “feeling” symptoms like moist down there wouldnt i also feel the symptoms in my penis as well? Like puss or when i pee it will burn?

2. I went to the hospital today to do the anal swab and they said it will take 2 days to get the results they also took a urine sample. And they said that will be back in 2 hours.

If the urine sample comes back negative whats the chances of the anal swab come back positive? Does the urine have any efect?

3. Again lets just say i got gonorreha in my but can i pass it to my wife threw sex from my penis?

4. If both test come back negative today is the 6th day from aug 26 when the lady licked my anus for 5 sec can i take my tests conclusive?

Just freaking out about feeling moist down there also i asked the dr to check my anus and he said he saw NO discharge from my anus.
Maybe im nervous and im sweating a bit more then usual? Can that be?

I'm sorry my initial responses have not provided you with the reassurance you were seeking.  I will address these questions but the bottom line remains, you are not at meaningful risk for having gotten any STI from the rimming you reported.

1.If god for bid i got gonorreha  from my anus and i was “feeling” symptoms like moist down there wouldnt i also feel the symptoms in my penis as well? Like puss or when i pee it will burn?
Not necessarily.  A person can be infected at one site and not the other.

2. I went to the hospital today to do the anal swab and they said it will take 2 days to get the results they also took a urine sample. And they said that will be back in 2 hours.

If the urine sample comes back negative whats the chances of the anal swab come back positive? Does the urine have any efect?

I anticipate that both will be negative.  I'm perplexed as to why it takes longer to provide the rectal test results but remain confident that both will be negative.

3. Again lets just say i got gonorreha in my but can i pass it to my wife threw sex from my penis?
No, DIRECT contact is required to transmit gonorrhea.

4. If both test come back negative today is the 6th day from aug 26 when the lady licked my anus for 5 sec can i take my tests conclusive?
Yes

I hope that these replies are helpful.  EWH

last questions you just made me relax a bit thanks just to confirm

so just confirming again i wouldnt be able to give my wife gonorreha anyway because the asian lady licked my anus and in order to give it to my wife gonorreha my wife needs to touch my anus????  there is no way of me giving it to my wife threw my penis to her mouth or vagina?

i just wanted to clarify that answer

so even if i got gonorreha i wouldnt be able to give it to my wife(because she never touches my anus) and i can just take the medication and get better?

if you tell me yes and i wouldnt be able to give it to her i would really be stressed relived (i prob spent like 1,500 dollars today going to the er and thinking i can get my results asap and the ER doctor told me ("no the swabs go out and blood, urine stays in the hospital). if knew that just would have went to any urgent care smh!

thanks doc

As I believe you know, we provide up to three answers to clients. This is my 3rd response.  Thus this reply will complete the thread and there will be no further response.

Confirming your summary.  If you had rectal gonorrhea (you don't) the infection would not travel to other sites such as your penis or mouth and in that way be transmissible to your wife.

Gonorrhea, when present is easily cured with medications.

I'm sorry your guilt and anxiety caused you to seek  the testing in the way you did.  From your description there was no scientific or medical reason for concern.

End of thread. EWH
