[Question #7244] I think I may have contracted herpes

I am a 26 year old male. On the 2 September 2020 I had an unprotected outercourse with a 45 year old overweight female sex worker (who claimed to be STD free).  Basically this is what happened:

I had a hand job and mammary intercourse with her.

When putting on a condom she used her mouth to put it on. What is the risk of oral herpes being transmitted to my genitals from this.

After deciding not to use a condom I she lied down on her stomach and I thrusted/slid my naked penis through her naked bum crack like in the link below except I was straddling her legs and went from the other side.

I stood against a wall and she pushed/grinded her naked bum against my naked penis.

She lied down on her stomach and I thrust my naked penis into her naked upper thighs.

She said she does not offer natural services and she claimed my penis did not touch her anus, vagina or vulva once.

3 and a half to 4 days later I started getting a burning sensation in the tip of my penis which 10 days later still hurts. The pain goes up and down and sometimes it hurts very badly and sometimes it is very minor. Other than that I have felt a lot of itching in the pubic/anal area, a bit of fatigue/nausea, feelings of jelly legs in my quads occasionally, funny feelings in groin area, light sensitivity for maybe a few minutes and sometimes burning/painful urination since then. I do not have any sores or swelling lymph nodes or a fever so far. I did find little white lumpy things under my foreskin a few days ago and today as well.

I have been tested for a UTI and it came back negative. I was also tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea but they also came back negative (I am not worried about them anyway since they are 100% curable).

What is the risk I contracted genital herpes from this encounter? I am currently seeing two people right now (I have not been sexual with either of these girls yet), would it be advisable to lay off of becoming sexual with them until I get cleared by a test or something?

Sorry for the long question and sorry to be so specific. I have never been so anxious in my entire life.

I think the risk of acquiring herpes from this encounter is just about zero.  You didn't come in contact with the parts of her that would transmit the virus to you.
I'm assuming you've had sex with other people in your lifetime?  Have you had herpes concerns prior to this?
The symptoms that you describe, in the post, do not sound herpetic to me.  And the fact that you've had no sores is very significant indeed.  Almost always, sores from a new herpes infection show up within 2-10 days so you are just about out of the woods on that one, right?

Thankyou for the reassurance Terri. To be honest this is my first sexual experience with any girl before with the exception of kissing. I've never had any prior herpes concerns before.  Based on your answer having sores is the main sign of whether you have herpes or not? So no sores pretty much equals no herpes yeah?

By the way can I clarify my burning urination symptom I am actually not sure if it was present every time I went to the toilet or not.  Sounds silly but I am not 100% sure if it was intermittent or not. The penis burning on the tip/head I think did wax and wane throughout the time but maybe it didn't hurt at some points. But was higher than lower most of the time though.  Sorry to backtrack and not provide better information on it. Last night at around 9:30pm to 10pm (10 days and a few hours after exposure) I started getting tightness and dull pain in my hip/pelvic area, which is quite uncomfortable and still here half a day later.

I forgot to add this as well, the sex worker said I actually made their vagina wet during the session. Is there any way if the vagina wetness got on me I could contract it still. As I said, she said my penis didn't touch her anus, vagina or vulva but i don't remember myself whether it did or not (I asked her about a week later so she might not remember herself) But given she doesn't do natural I'm sure she would have ensured those areas didn't touch unprotected.  Can I also add I kissed her breasts, stomach and mouth with full tongue action. I was also facesat by her in panties (I am very confident she wasn't nude where my face was entirely underneath her ass while kissing and licking her butt cheeks. As I mentioned before she was quite overweight and I my face was also smothered by her hanging stomach and slapped onto my face. Do these pose any risks for oral herpes?

One other thing is I have had some pain as well as feeling quite tender in the left side of my lower abdomen.  I know this would not be herpes related but do you have any ideas of what it could be.

Sorry to cloud the air a little bit with this extra information, go around in circles, just babble in general and seem so paranoid. I am still somewhat concerned but definitely less so than before. To be honest I actually didn't know herpes could get transmitted via skin to skin contact until a couple of days after the encounter so I guess that it why I am so freaked out! By the way I asked about this on your other site westover heights forum under mlanzo. Feel free to ignore it.

Sorry I forgot to clarify the tightness/pain/sensation in my hip area/pubic area. Essentially it is on both sides of the body and is directly below the stomach area/right where the top of the pubic hair bush is. Thanks again for the help so far.

Sorry to add again to the previous post but it was uncomfortable to sit/lie down (and even stand maybe a touch) with the symptoms in my pubic area/pelvic area.

I don't think that any of the symptoms that you describe sound anything like herpes.  Your actions were quite safe and I'm not worried about you contracting herpes in this situation.

Cheers thanks Terri. I feel much calmer now. I was concerned that maybe between days 1 and 3 after the encounter I could have got sores and they had already healed by day 4 (I saw my doctor about it). But I now realise that scenario is highly unlikely.

I do have one more question though (not herpes related so a bit outside your wheel house). Am i at high risk for contracting any other stds? I have heard hepatitis can be spread by kissing. I french kissed her with a fair bit of saliva exchange. I have heard hpv can be transferred via skin on skin contact.

I also heard hepatitis can be transferred from oral to fecal contact. Since she facesat me (from memory with panties) and I kissed her butt cheeks is that risk for hepatitis in particular?

I'm not at all concerned about hepatitis in the incident where she had her panties on when she had her genitals near your face.  While it is possible to transmit hepatitis through kissing, that seems highly unlikely to me.  And yes, there are cases of HPV being transmitted via skin to skin contact, but for the vast majority of people, this happens through a far more direct, genital to genital sexual experience.  Since this is your first sexual experience, I understand that you are worried about all of these sexual health issues.  But in my opinion, you did a really good job of doing things that present extremely low risk, if any.

I hope you can move on now.  And if you have more questions, you can come back and ask.
