Hi Terri,
I'm responding back with a new question from Question #7287. I want to clarify your last answer. You stated that HSV 1 genital infection is less likely to recur and far less likely to be transmitted via intercourse. Does this apply to a female with HSV 1 genital to a male that does not have HSV 1 genital or oral and vice versa?

Even though there's no transmission data we know that HSV 1 genital is less likely to transmitted from female to male or male to female? Thanks for all your help Terri I learned a lot.

Though we have no data, we do know that transmission from males to females, just given the anatomy, is more likely. I would assume that is true for HSV 1 as well as HSV 2.

Therefore, by me having HSV 1 genital for over 20 years is less likely

Sorry Terri I hit submit before finishing my last sentence. To be transmitted via intercourse to a male?

If you have had genital HSV 1 for 20 years, the transmission risk to a male partner is really really low! Correct.
