[Question #7324] Hpv risk to my wife

I have had 2 experiences with strippers One was a condom protected blow job performed on me and the other was Condom protected handjob where the girl laid naked on  top of me  and my pants were pulled down over my thighs.  These experiences happen more than 6 yrs ago. I am worried about having spread hpv to my wife.   She has had a 2 pap smear since , one was months afterwards and the other was 3 yrs ago.  Both paps were negative.   No test for hpv done.  I am worried that this events years ago will cause her harm.  She is 56 and had another pap due soon.

Thank you for consideration my question

Greetings, if you see this. I have only now discovered that this question has gone unanswered for two weeks. My apology! If you're still here and see this reply, let me know with a follow-up reply. Either way, I will ask the forum administrator to refund your posting fee.

I have two main responses. First, these were zero risk exposures for HPV and other STDs. Even without a condom, STDs are never transmitted by hand-genital contact; and they are uncommon after any single oral sex exposure. Unprotected oral can carry a risk of HPV, but very low -- but for sure no possibilty with a condom.

Second and on the other hand, you and/or your wife probably have (or have had) genital HPV, assuming either of you wasn't virginal when you started having sex. That would be rare:  of course the large majority of people are sexually active before they marry or commit to a permanent relationship, with a few cultural exceptions. If eitiher of you ever had sex with anyone else -- not counting the two stripper events described above -- then HPV is possible, since over 90% of sexually active people acquire one or more HPV infectons. Getting and having HPV should be viewed as a normal, expected, unavoidable aspect of human sexuality. This is why your wife is having pap smears:  they are recommended for all women, regardless of their sexual history.

Having had negative pap smears up til now, probably your wife's upcoming pap wil also be normal. In the small chance she has abnormal cells or HPV, it won't be from the stripper encounters you had many years ago.

Profound apology again for the long delay in this reply. To my knowledge, it's never been this long! And I'll make sure we take steps to assure it never happens again. Look for a credit on the card you used to purchase your question.

And please let me know if any of the above information isn't clear or if anything else about HPV is on your mind. Best wishes and stay safe.
