[Question #7329] testing required?

Hi doctor,

Around mid july, I went to a escort who deals in bondage. While there she penetrated and fingered me anally using a condom for the toys and gloves for her hands.

Recently though, with everything going on right now,I have become increasingly anxious and paranoid if the event in question could have been a method of HIV transmission. I have read numerous posts and forums, all of which say that it is not a method, however I cannot bring my mind to believe it.

 1. Am I overreacting and thinking about it too much?
2. Should i take an HIV test? My last test was in June of this year and was well after the window period and the result was negative.
3. I f i do take a test, is there a possibility of it being positive given this was the only event since my last test.

Welcome to our Forum and thanks for your question.  I'll be glad to comment.  Penetration with a gloved finger and sex toys which have been cleaned and not immediately used on another person are forms of masturbation. There is no risk for any STI, including HIV from an encounter of this sort, thus I would not sorry and see no need for testing.  Masturbation, even when performed by another person, is a no risk event.  You are in the clear.

I hope that this information is helpful.  Let me know if any of this response is unclear.  I see no reason for concern.  EWH

Even though you have stated above that masturbation of any form is not a concern for HIV, the anxiety and gotten to me and am increasingly thinking

*continued* of getting an HIV test to get final peace of mind.

Is there any ANY possibility of it coming back positive?

HIV is not transmitted through receipt of masturbation.  No one has ever acquired HIV from receipt of masturbation.  If you test and have no other risks, your test will be negative.  EWH---

Hi Doctor,

The only event that i have had after my June negative test was this one and to the best of my knowledge have not been exposed to other risks.

yes, my advice is to have confidence in your June test result and move forward without concern.

This is my 3rd response to your questions.  Forum guidelines allow us to provide up to three responses to each client's questions.  Therefore this thread will be closed shortly without further responses.  Take care.  Please don't worry.  EWH
