[Question #7353] Syphilis help

Hello here’s my experience and symptoms approximately 31 days ago I received a hand job from a Asian massage worker I had her wear a latex glove that she pulled out from a droor 2 mins later it was done.  Speed up time on the 28th day I woke up at 4:30 am to go to work with severe body aches like I’ve never had before I went in to work anyways around noon that day I felt horrible got a massive fever went home and then to the hospital at 7pm that day had a fever of 102.8 I was admitted for 4 hours they gave me some meds and checked me for COVID test came back equavicol reguardless I felt fine when I walked out of their with a normal temp and no aches no symptoms since that day except a little cough fast forward this last Friday night I got out of the shower was wiping myself down and when I was drying my scrotum I noticed what seemed to be a small pimple on my right part of my scrotum well that pimple turned into a black looking crater that grew and is inflamed I’m scared to death as it does not go away and literally looks like a syphilis chancre please help me does this happen?

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your confidence in our services.

You had a zero risk sexual experience that could not have resulted in syphilis. It's never transmitted by hand-genital contact, even without gloves on an infected person's hands. Second, syphilis is not a plausible explanation for your symptoms; that includes both your fever and a pimple-like skin lesion. In addition, that lesion started too late:  syphilis chancres almost always are apparent within 2-3 weeks and never longer than 4 weeks. If the now ulcerative ("cratered") lesion doesn't clear up soon, you should seek medical attention for reassurance. But no worries about syphliis or any other STD from your massage experience.

I hope these comments are helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Thanks for the reply I’m actually driving to the urgent care to get it looked at it is a black colored ulcer that has no pain I understand receiving a handjob with a glove would sound Impossible I guess I’m being a nervous Nancy I will let you know what they say when I leave here I also did develop a massive herpes outbreak witch I’m assuming was from the fever that I had on the 28th day mind you I do not have any sort of unprotected sex oral vaginal anal etc and I’m a straight male

Just to clear it up left the urgent care they said that it looks like a blood clot under the skin probably from me applying pressure trying to rupture it and as for the herpes outbreak was from the fever I had which I assume now is not from hiv or a STD thanks for the advice

Interesting about your "massive" herpes outbreak. Presumably you have a past history of herpes, right? Are we talking oral or genital? If genital and no known prior infection, it might suggest you acquired HSV during the massage event, because initial herpes typically is much more severe than recurrent. OTOH, the exposure was equally low risk for herpes as for syphilis; and initial herpes symptoms usually start within a few days and always within 3 weeks. And any acute illness with fever can trigger recurrent herpes -- and in that situation, severe outbreaks with multiple lesions are quite common. So regardless of your past history, probably you've had the HSV infection for a long time. In any case, I'm very confident your illness had absolutely nothing to do with the massage event 4 weeks earlier. Without more detail about other symptoms and lab findings, I can't speculate further about the cause, but I am entirely certain it wasn't anything sexually acquired.---

Thanks for the reply no not genital herpes my doctor said fever blisters I’ve had HSV1 since I can remember just haven’t had an outbreak in 5+ years and if I do it’s one cold sore but I did speak with my primary care physician and he insisted it was from me squeezing on it in the begging that left basically a blood clot as for me getting that fever and body aches I’m assuming common cold or flu since I was negative for COVID

Influenza or a bad cold can trigger horrendous oral herpes outbreaks in people with longstanding HSV1 infection. Indeed, this is exactly why the terms "fever blisters" and "cold sores" were common historically, long befire the herpes viruses were discovered and named. It isn't because you squeezed an otherwise minor outbreak. It reflects the cold or influenza temporarily impairing your immune control of HSV.---
