[Question #7416] Chance to infect with herpes

Dear doctor
Yesterday afternoon I had a sex with a girl, vaginal protected and oral unprotected. Today morning a herpes appeared on her mouth. I already had on my mouth herpes couple of times before. Is there a risk that I will have herpes on my genital area, or mouth? I also kissed her today before noticing herpes on her mouth.
Thank you

I would like to add that I am male, 39 and the oral sex was given by both of us.

If you have both had cold sores on your mouth, it is highly unlikely that either of you would get that virus (HSV 1) genitally through oral sex.

Yes, had cold sores many times before, and I also was on HSV test 6 years ago, it showed I am positive for HSV-1. She also had cold sores before on her mouth. Does this mean that I should not worry?

Yes, it is extremely unlikely that once you have HSV 1 in one location (cold sores) that you would then get the same virus in a new location on your body
