[Question #7598] New info

Dear drs, I have come back to ask you a few questions that linger around, and just need some advice from you. The girl that I had met up had told her friend she had been sleeping around before she met me which really frightened me and I thought if she had caught something due to sleeping around then I am in deep trouble. I have been tested at 11 days hiv rna test negative and a hiv duo test at 17 days negative she also tested with me on this day. I also went back and tested at 27 days post exposure and yesterday which was 29 days post exposure also did a gonorreah and chlamydia test which was also negative. I have been stressed out a lot due to this incident due to the fact she had been sleeping around before she met and I’m a married man I made a big mistake but I’m over the worst of the anxiety.  Just don’t want to infect my wife for a stupid mistake I made.

1st question if she was in a window Period would she be highly infectious. She hasn’t been truthful at all to me as she told me I hadn’t penetrated her but telling her friends I did and taking advantage of the situation I’m in not a very nice person.

2) if she was on pep because she seemed to not be every open to me around the time she was with me could she have infected me? I feel as though she has done this on purpose.

3) how accurate is my 29 day duo test and should I test out longer due to the weight loss and pains in my leg muscles. I really appreciate your responses thank you once again.

She has been telling  people that I penetrated her but for the life of me I cannot remember much. What’s the best way for to move forward is it to carry out testing or to test with an rna I have been sleeping with my wife untill I heard this

I'm sorry to see you're having such difficulty either believing or understanding the advice you had in both your previous threads. These questions were answered there and I see no reason to repeat them. But here goes, very briefly and with no opportunity to continue discussion.

1) As previously discussed, the chance such a low risk partner was in the window period is nil for all practical purposes.
2) People on PEP drugs cannot transmit HIV. I have no comment about your paranoid-sounding worries about your partner's truthfulness.
3) Negative AgAb (duo) test results at 29 days are 99% reliable in ruling out HIV, and 100% reliable in proving any symptoms are not due to HIV.

As for your final comment, the level of risk during the exposure doesn't matter. The test results show you were not infected, regardless of the risk at the time.

The forum does not permit repeated questions on the same topic or exposure. This will have to be your last one; future new questions about this exposure, testing, and your fears about HIV will be deleted without reply and without refund of the posting fee. This policy is based on compassion, not criticism, and is designed to reduce temptations to keep paying for questions with obvious answers. In addition, experience shows that continued answers tend to prolong users' anxieties rather than reducing them. Finally, such questions have little educational value for other users, one of the forum's main purposes. I trust you will understand.
