Hi doctor,
My most recent encounter was in June/July of last year with a csw who used sex toys to anally penetrate me. The sex toys were all used with a condom . Prior to this incident the only actual sexually penetration that took place was in Feb of last year with a csw who gave me unprotected oral and protected vaginal sex.
I have had numerous 4th gen combo test fromJuly-19 to Jan-21 and all have been negative with the most recent being 6 months after last potential exposure.(the sex toy one)
I have been having recurring mouth ulcers and and an increase in pimples on my body.
1. Are my test conclusive? Do I require further testing ?
2. Is there any chance of the result being positive after so long with out any new exposure if I was to take another test?
3. I have read online that ‘hairy leukoplakia’ is primarily seen as a sign of an HIV infection. At what stage of HIV does this infection take place?

Welcome to the Forum and thanks for your questions. I’ll be glad to comment. You can be confident that you are not infected with.HIV from the exposures you describe. HIV is not transmitted through use of sex toys unless they are being immediately shared between an infected and uninflected person and even then transmission is quite rare. The use of a condom add still more protection. Further, there are no proven cases of HIV acquisition which have occurred due to receipt of unprotected oral sex. Finally, the results of 4th generation combination HIV antigen/antibody tests are absolutely conclusive at any time more than 6 weeks are exposure. Thus it sounds as though you have proven you were not infected on multiple occasions. Your. Outh ulcers and skin rash are certainly not due to HIV.
In answer to your specific questions:
1. Your results are conclusive. No further testing in needed.
2. There is no need for additional testing. The results will not change. Believe your test results.
3. Hairy leukoplakia occurs in person with well established, chronic HIV.
I hope this information is helpful. Please don’t worry. Believe your test results. EWH
