I was wondering and very concerned. I may have got hiv I tested 6 days after possible exposer 18 days after exposer & 45 days after exposer. All came back negative and I believe the test was a 4th gen test from kaiser. But doctor told me wait 12 weeks are 3 months. & had symptoms like lymph nodes were aching but not swollen fatigued and nausea on and off all day .  Also had some type of balanitis that has not went away and gets worse and red when erect.   And if not hiv how long does it take for syphilis are hepatitis to show up in test cause I tested for those also three times at same time as hiv test.

Welcome. Thanks for your confidence in our services.

The news is good: your worries houdl be over. You don't say anything about the nature of the exposure and how risky it was, but it really doesn't matter. Your doctor appears to be behind the times in regard to modern HIV tests:  the AgAb (4th generation) HIV blood tests are 100% conclusive 6 weeks or more after the last possible exposure. Three months is old news, going back to older HIV tests that haven't been used by most labs for the past 10-15 years. The results overrule not only exposure history, but also symptoms:  your symptomare not very suggestive of a new HIV infection, but even if they were, your test results prove HIV isn't the cause.

Your sym;toms also don't suggest syphilis or viral hepaitis, but those results (at 45 days) also were conclusive. You're home free for all the STDs for which you were tested. (You don't mention gonorrhea or chlamydia. If you had unprotected vaginal, anal or oral sex, you should also be tested for these. But if no symptoms like penile discharge or pain on urination, it is unlikely you have either one.

I hope these comments are helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Thank you sir & it was a risky exposer I just felt really sick after & very depressed with anxiety and stress maybe that is what made it worse. Also my doctor gots me scheduled for another test at 3 month mark. & I tested for other stds at the time as well. & & 6 weeks is great & 100 percent accurate right? Appreciate it.

As I said, the amount of risk at the time of the sexual events is irrelevant:  your test results prove you were int infected. And I already said that your negative results at 6 weeks are 100% conclusive for HIV.

If you'd like more advice about sexual safety for the future, I'd be happy to comment on your last exposure. However, "rsky exposure" is meaningless without more detail. FAle or female partner? Vaginal, anal, or oral sex? With or without condom(s)? Sex worker, bar pick-up, co-worrker?

If you re-read your questions and my replies up to now, you'll realize you're just asking the same question for the third time, using slightly different words. I haven't changed my mind:  there is no chance.

That completes the two follow-up exchanges included with each question and so ends this thread. I hope the discussion has been helpful and that you are now reassured and confident there is no possibility you have HIV. If for some reason you remain in doubt, please don't be tempted to ask again. There is no chance our judgment or advice would change!

Best wishes and stay safe.
